However, one’s inventory inThe Foresthas its limits. Once it’s full, nothing more can be added until you make some room, so clearing items out will become necessary. For those unsure of what this process entails, this guide aims to help gamers figure outhow to drop items inThe Forest.

How To Drop Items In The Forest

Unlike other games, dropping stuff isn’t as straightforward inThe Forest. Players can only throw away a few items, while most things just go back into your inventory. To drop something, open your inventory by pressing ‘I,‘select what you want to remove, andhit the ‘G’ button. Depending on what it is, it’ll either fall to the ground or return to your inventory.

For example, pressing ‘G’ on astickputs it back in your inventory, but doing the same withfresh or spoiled meatmakes it drop. In a way, the drop system acts more like anunequip featurein the game, with only a few exceptions.

Every item in your inventory has a limit. If you pick up more than you can carry, the extras will automatically spill out. To really free up space, try using consumables like snacks, MEDS, and soda, combining materials, or setting up storage for items you don’t need right away.

How To Empty The Inventory In The Forest

To remove items from your inventory, you can build a storage unit and stash your gathered items there. Luckily, the game gives you a bunch of storage options to choose from. Here’s a list of the storage units available in the game, along with their item capacity:
