Steamworld Heist 2will have players switching between naval combat as they explore the world, and theturn-based combatwith their bots whenever they dock somewhere. Both your bots and ship will need to be upgraded to progress through the game, and all those upgrades will cost Gallons.

Gallons of fresh water, or just gallons, are the main form of currency in the world ofSteamworld Heist 2. While it can be earned in both forms of gameplay, there is a much faster way to farm it for those saving up for a new crew member or specific weapon.

How To Get Gallons In Steamworld Heist 2

With Gallons being the main resource and currency, there are a few ways to get it, ranging in efficiency.

Explanation

Picking Up Loot

While in your ship traveling through water, you’ll occasionally find crates that can bepicked up once you get close and are a great source of Gallons. Destroying enemy ships also has a high chance of dropping crates.

Completing Missions

Some missions will reward Gallons and can be identified by theEpic Swag chest having a water droplet on it.

Selling Gear

Old gear for your ships or bots can be sold anytime from their respective menus but for a fraction of the price they are purchased for.

Trading Reputation

At the end of each day, Reputation can betraded for various totals of Gallonsdepending on how much Reputation you have to trade at once.

Water Purifier

In the Sub Upgrades console, you canupgrade the Water Purifier using fragmentsto increase the total number of Gallons you get from all previously mentioned methods.

How To Farm Gallons Quickly

The most efficient way of farming Gallons is bydestroying enemy ships and looting themwhile playingSteamworld Heist 2. Enemy ships respawn each day, and it’s easy to out-gun enemy ships early in the game, and the Gallons you get from this will help you stay ahead.

Custom Difficulty

To further speed this process up, go to the System menu and select the Custom difficult option. In the menu, you’ll be able toincrease the, “Naval Enemy Density” which can greatly increase the number of enemy ships found nearby. As long asyour ship is strong enoughto quickly take down enemy ships in your current area, you’ll be able to farm them for Gallons easily, resting after they are gone to respawn them all. This setting can be changed at any time not in a mission, letting you farm when you want, or reducing their numbers to make exploration easier.
