Some of the biggest ways to make your character better inBaldur’s Gate 3are to boost their base attributes. you may increase those attributes by picking the right feats, but outside of those, you’ll mostly be limited inraising base attributes.
Outside of one-off situations you’ll randomly come across, gear will be a major way you can increase the base attributes. While you’ll often want to equip the best-looking armor to stay alive in combat, there are some gear pieces that may not look battle-ready, but can offer bonuses in combat depending on your class. Here’s how to get Birthright, along with the best classes to equip it on.
Where to Get Birthright in Baldur’s Gate 3
Players can only get Birthright in Act 3 upon entering the main city of Baldur’s Gate. You can go and get the hat right away byheading to Sorcerous Sundries. The Birthright hat can be purchased from the person behind the front desk, either Rolan if you saved him and he made it to Baldur’s Gate, or Lorroakan’s Projection. No matter who is behind the desk, you can buy the hat for 1,025 Gold.
You can try andlower the pricesby increasing your relationship with the merchant.
Depending on what you’ve done in Act 3 in regardsto the Nightsongand Lorroakan, Rolan may stop selling to you. If this happens, your only chance of getting Birthright is eitherpickpocketing it off of him or killing him and looting it, though both of these options can be very dangerous.
Best Class/Character to Give Birthright to in Baldur’s Gate 3
By far, thebest character or class to give this hat to is a Warlock or Bard. If you have Wyll in your party and your character is neither, he’s the best party member option. Not only does this help him pass Charisma checks, but the Agonising Blast feat adds the Charisma multiplier only on the damage of your Eldritch Blasts, which should be one of his best actions in battle.
Depending on your build, some Paladin or Sorcerer characters can get a good bonus from this hat, but Bard or Warlock is far superior across the board.
If you have already maxed out someone’s charisma, this hat will boost it to 22,making your Charisma modifier +6. Since headgear doesn’tdetermine AC, this hat is a great option for a character focusing on dealing more damage.
