As players complete different missions inKilling Floor 3, they will get various materials that can be used tocraft mods to make their weaponsdo different things. Upgrading your favorite weapons is a key way to make your characters stronger, so you’ll need to farm just about every material you can.
A lot of the materials that are needed are farmed by killing specific enemies, with different maps and difficulties offering varying frequencies of specific Zeds. Luckily, Scrap Metal can be found in just about every map, though the best place to farm it won’t come from Zeds. Here’s how to easily farm Scrap Metal inKilling Floor 3.
How to Farm Scrap Metal in Killing Floor 3
The best way to get Scrap Metal is by destroying various things found throughout maps:
Of those, themost common you’ll find are cameras and loud speakers, often found higher up along the ceilings in buildings and near the edges of roofs when outside. Destroying these things only takes a single bullet, so make sure you’re using semi-automatic fire so as not to waste any ammo. Destroying these things won’t always guarantee a Scrap Metal drop, but there’s at least a 50% drop rate, with you often also getting Electrical Parts, which is another material you’ll need a lot of.
What is Scrap Metal Used For?
Scrap Metal isused to upgrade Blades, Pommels, and Receivers. Your best use is to upgrade blades, as they don’t have an ammo requirement and are useful in the first wave or two for any class to help you save up Dosh fast to buy better things for later rounds. If yourfavorite character is Ninja, it’s important to really stock up on scrap metal to take advantage of his go-to weapons.
Other Ways of Getting Scrap Metal in Killing Floor 3
You’ll often get some Scrap Metal after completing a game and killing the boss that appears in the final wave, though this is only a chance and takes a good deal of work. There are three enemies that also drop Scrap Metal, and luckily, they are some of the easier ones to take down:
Clots are arguably one of the weakest enemies in the game, and will die to a single headshot from just about any gun. BothClots of Gorefasts areweak to Biological damage, so try and bring a weapon that deals that damage type if your goal is to hunt down enemies that drop scrap metal.
