Madness is one of the main highlights of the game, which slowly builds up each time the player’s character dies from an enemy. Once at a certain threshold, it’ll allow you to deal additional damage, but also receive more damage, making it a double-edged sword. How Does Madness Work in Wuchang Fallen Feathers?
Madness (Inner Demon) is ahigh-risk, high-reward combat mechanicthat allows players to deal increased damage, but in exchange, they also receive more damage inWuchang Fallen Feathers. The Madness meter gradually builds up every time Wuchang dies in combat, players claim an item from the invoke tab, or use a consumable that increases Madness.
If Wuchang dies in combat when the Madness meter reaches maximum, you’ll be prompted by the “Madness Descends” message, anda demon will manifest at the location where she died. Players will need to defeat this demon in order to get rid of Madness and retrieve their dropped Red Mercury.
While this mechanic may seem like a debuff, it’s actually prettyuseful for players who’ve mastered the evasion mechanic. If you can avoid hits while fighting enemies and land your attacks well, Madness buffs the attack power, giving you the upper hand in combat.
In addition to the base effects,some skills in the Impetus Repositoryonly activate once players attain a certain level of Madness, i.e. 50%, or 90%.
What is the Invoke Mechanic?
If you’ve visited a shrine and entered the Invoke tab, you’ll spot several consumable items that you can claim. These items don’t cost Red Mercury, but insteadwill raise your Madnessas a payment. This can be useful for players who want to quickly attain maximum Madness and get some items in return for doing it as well.
The items in the Invoke tab are highly farmable, as you can just claim the items, die once to spawn the Madness demon, kill it or be killed to remove madness, and claim these items again. There’s a wide assortment of items that you can claim in this tab that will help you during combat.
