Bell And Syr’s Daring Escape
Bell Sweeps Syr Away From the Freya Familia
After taking up Syr’s request to kidnap her, Bell and Syr make a calculated escape fromthe Freya Familia’s eyes. While they were able to successfully evade the familia and escape into the city, the Freya Familia was still able to remain on their trail. With over 150 members in the familia, the Freya Familia can easily scan the entirety of Orario, but Bell Cranel’s evasive tactics showcased exactly why he’s known as Rabbit’s Foot.

Continuing their date, Bell and Syr head to a cruise dinner, which was alreadyhijacked by Hestiaand the waitresses from the tavern. However, the date was interrupted by a third party — the Freya Familia. Despite the familia catching the duo once more, Bell and Syr manage to escape, giving way to an intimate encounter between the two. While nothing has happened between the pair so far, the next episode is likely to expand on this intimate event.
The latest Episode Adds on to Orario’s Worldbuilding
The current episode ofDanMachihas also expanded the series’ worldbuilding to a considerable degree. The first four seasons ofIs It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeonhave mostly revolved around the dungeon and the Tower of Babel, inturn excludingthe rest of Orario. However, the latest episode has shed light on a few significant landmarks within the city, which is certainly a first for DanMachi.
The first major site is the Fulland Cathedral, a significant landmark in the city that is based on a heroic tale of Orario. Despite being based on a tale and not on any god, which is rather odd for a city filled withmythological gods and goddesses, the Cathedral is an important site for the city. The second site is the Heroes Bridge, a bridge that plays host to the statues of several heroes, including the man who fought off the dragon from Orario.
Syr mentions that there is a statue missing on the bridge, and the site of that statute is reserved for a new hero that would take center stage and serve as the protector of Orario. In a way, Syr hinted at Bell Cranel taking on the mantle of this hero, meaning one day, his statue is sure to be erected opposite to the warrior that once saved the city from a dragon.

Syr’s Ties to Norse Mythology Further Deepen
Syr mentions her search for her ‘Odr,’ a concept that is based on Norse mythology. Odr references goddess Freya’s husband who leaves her for years on end, at leastaccording to Norse Mythology. Freya has been known to shed tears of red gold waiting for Odr, which testifies to her intense emotions for him.DanMachi’sversion of Odr references a similar character, as Syr mentions her desire to find her own Odr.

The concept of finding one’s Odr is largely linked to the Freya Familia, as goddess Freya herself is in search of her Odr. While Ottar, theFreya Familia’s current captain, is already based on Odr’s mythology, the series has incorporated this notion of a hero separately. Freya believes that Bell Cranel is destined to be his Odr, and now, Syr has expressed a similar desire.
