Japan’s manga industry has been facing some hurdles recently, especially with quite a few big and popular series ending. Sales, in general, haven’t been great, even for the most popular manga. Still, Japan’s top manga publisher, Shueisha, just revealed its top 3 best selling series at the moment.
Shueisha’s Top 3 Mangas Are Revealed
Shueisha is one of the largest publishing companies in Japan. It owns multiple,highly popular magazines, with the biggest one being Weekly Shonen Jump. It also owns other magazines such as V Jump and Ultra Jump.
Shueisha definitely has some of the biggest manga stories in history, and recently, it went on to reveal its best selling manga for this year
The number one best selling manga right now for Shueisha is,unsurprisingly,One Piece.One Pieceblows every other series out of the water. Its numbers for the last volume, 1.11 million, are almost double that of the second best selling series, and that is despite a drop in sales.
AfterOne Piece,SpyxFamilyis the second biggest hit Shueisha has at the moment. The popularity of this series seems to still be booming with its latest volume selling about 640k. This is only going to get better once this manga gets its new anime season.
And of course, a series that is never far from the top, Kingdom is third this time around. Kingdom remains a strongly popular series, despite the lack of a good anime adaptation. Its last volume sold about 440k.
WhileWorld Triggerdidn’t make it into the top 3, it’s the only series that seems like it could break through. It’s only about 100k away fromKingdom.
Kaiju8, One Punch Man, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures, Dandadan, and Chainsawman are All Doing Average Numbers
The top 4 are far ahead of the other manga, but other Shueisha series are also doing well for themselves.
Kaiju No. 8was actually doing great and also had the potential to break into the top 3 eventually.However, the series abruptly ended recently.
Aside from that,One Punch Manis still doing okay, but it has faced some heavy decline in sales, more than 60%. This is definitely a concern for fans of the series.
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures, Dandadan, and Chainsaw Man come after that.Dandadan’ssales are quite disappointingfor a series that received such a good anime adaptation.

The manga’s popularity helped it spin off into a larger media franchise, including an anime with more than 1,000 episodes.
