A Perfect Combination of Brilliant Cinematography and Buildup
Before discussing the hype-worthy battle from Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle trilogy, it is important to understand what makes Ant King’s fight with Sung Jinwoo so exciting. Perhaps the biggest reason it got so much hype is that the show has been setting the stage for it from the first scene of the anime itself. The previous raids on Jeju Islandwere failures, and over the course of the first two seasons, this was subtly highlighted through interactions or flashbacks.
Are there others? Others you call king?
This created a sense of dread and urgency that got viewers excited for the raid as Jinwoo rose to become Korea’s 10th S-rank hunter. But what happened next took fans by surprise. The Korean and Japanese raid partywas ruthlessly taken down by the Ant King, who killed some of the best hunters in the world without breaking a sweat. Eventually, as Jinwoo and the S-rank dungeon boss fought, each moment was filled with unpredictability and tension. The buildup was perfectly executed for the final battle and allowed Sung Jinwoo to shine.

Kokushibo’s Fight Will Be Even More Memorable and Captivating
Now, there is no doubt that Sung Jinwoo’s fight with the Ant King was memorable. But the Infinity Castle trilogy is all set to take things to a whole new level. Each battle involving the Upper Moonswill be intense and reveal secrets that are expected to leave the fans shocked. But one fight in particular is going to have the most lasting impact.
Kokushibo, despite being one of the strongest demons alive, has yet to fight. Fans barely know anything about him, but as the series reaches its final arcs, things are about to change. In the Infinity Castle, the Upper Moon will face Muichiro, Sanemi, Gyomei, and Genya alone. No other demon, except for Muzan Kibutsuji, will fight so many swordsmen at the same time.
What makes Kokushibo’s battleso exciting is the fact that the Hashirahe is set to face are rated as one of the best of the Taisho era. Each one of them has trained their body to perfection and is an exceptionally great swordsman, perhaps even the greatest of the breathing style they practice.
Kokushibo, despite being outnumbered, will fight a ruthless battle that will push his adversaries to the extreme. While the fight will be intense, the backstories that will be revealed alongside it will make the overall experience even more memorable. The Upper Rank One’s life is shrouded in mystery for now, but once his past is exposed, fans will not only be shocked but also have a new appreciation for the Demon Slayer lore.
Furthermore, this battle will push Genyaand Sanemi to finally open up to each other. The emotionally-charged confessions will motivate the two brothers to protect one another. Sanemi will also realize his full potential, and the reawakening ofthe Demon Slayer Markwill bring an exciting twist to the fight. When Kokushibo’s battle eventually comes to an end, it will capture perhaps one of the most painful moments in the series.
While Sung Jinwoo’s fight with Ant King feels like a one-man show, the demon slayer’s battle with Kokushibo is not one-dimensional. Instead of hyperfixating on a specific character’s growth, it allows everyone engaged to leave an impression.
The first installment of the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle trilogy is scheduled to be released in the United States on July 18, 2025.
