EA is planning a big multiplayer reveal event forBattlefield 6next week, on the last day of July.Battlefield 6is just now starting to be unveiled by EA after months of holding Battlefield Labs multiplayer playtests for select gamers. After confirming the game’s official title yesterday, EA and DICE dropped the game’s first full trailer earlier today.

DICE, along with EA studios Ripple Effect, Criterion, and Motive, are doing things differently withBattlefield 6to hopefully avoid the mistakes ofBattlefield 2042four years ago. For one,Battlefield 6is confirmed to be featuring a full campaign alongside its multiplayer suite, something thatBattlefield 2042lacked. It’ll be the first campaign in the series since 2018’s vignette-styleBattlefield 5story. The last traditional, non-vignette campaign in theBattlefieldseries was offered by thecops and robbers entryBattlefield Hardlinein 2015.Battlefield 6is also all-but-confirmed to be offering a separate free-to-play battle royale mode, something that many feelBattlefield 2042desperately needed.

Today, EA released the first trailer forBattlefield 6, a two-minute cinematic thrillfest of action and explosions set to Bob Dylan’s “Masters of War.” The trailer exclusivelyfocused onBattlefield 6’s campaign, showing off some of the locations the narrative’s blood-pumping battles will be taking place, New York City among them. There were also some prominently featured faces in the trailer who are likely to be the campaign’s leading characters. Despite the trailer’s single-player focus, it ended by reminding fans of the game’s multiplayer blowout that’s set to go live on July 31.

Battlefield 6 Multiplayer Reveal Happening on July 31

While information about where thisBattlefield 6multiplayer reveal will be streamed or what exactly the event will entail wasn’t included at the end of the trailer, fans will likely be able to find it on the officialBattlefieldTwitter account and YouTube channel once July 31 rolls around. ABattlefield 6beta has also been confirmed by EA, and there will likely be start dates and times revealed for that during the multiplayer reveal next week. Another big question fans have pertains toBattlefield 6’s release date. Rumors seem to be suggesting the game will land sometime in October, which is a month currently packed with big names likeThe Outer Worlds 2,Ninja Gaiden 4,andGhost of Yotei.Battlefield 6’s biggest competitor,Call of Duty: Black Ops 7,is also without a confirmed release date, though rumors are pinning it in mid-November, leavingBattlefield 6with not a ton of options for a clean spotlight this Fall.
