Summary
The long-awaited sequel is finally here, andKilling Floor 3is shaping up to be a pretty decent follow-up to an already cult-classic zombie-slaying series. With new weapons, classes, maps, and enemies, there’s a lot to learn, and one of the most important aspects of the game is deciding what class to play and master.
The Medicis easily one of the stronger classes inKilling Floor 3, with lower overall DPS but insane supportive potential with his healing output and crowd-control skills that keep the Zeds at bay whilst topping up any low-health teammates. There are plenty ofgreat Skills and builds for the Medic class, but there are a few specific ones that players should aim for if they want the most success at taking out the boss in the final wave.

For a class that’s built around healing, it makes sense that a pure healing build would be pretty good. While the Medic can still dish out some serious damage, if they stat heavily into the supportive areas, there is a slight trade-off to be had. Players can make use of healing skills likeStronger PrescriptionandHealth Benefitto add additional healing numbers without changing their core playstyle, or later on, they can unlock more specific skills likeSocial Distancing, which allows them to revive downed allies at range with their healing shots. The number of Skills that affect healing directly is pretty large, and the result is a team of constantly full-HP soldiers looking to clear out the Zeds with a vengeance.
For weapons, players will want to buy theLF-85as soon as possible, which is pretty easy as the weapon is on the cheaper side compared to the other purple-tier weapons. When players are ready to spendtheir hard-earned materials, mods like theDart Recharge Kitfor the sidearm and theHealing Grenade Launchermake for great additions to the player’s healing output, again, whilst keeping their playstyle intact.
Sometimes, the best way to support the team is to go on the offensive, and the Medic has more than a few tools in his kit to dish out some serious damage to the Zeds without completely erasing his supportive capabilities in the process. Weapons like theMP6have a much more aggressive playstyle, with increased mobility and a reduced emphasis on healing aspects. There are also quite afew damage buff attachmentsthat players can make use of to up their DPS and still have the ammo needed to heal low allies on the fly.
For Skills, the Medic has a few more offensive options, such asBurn Unitearly on andTerminal Diagnosiswhen maxed out, both of which add additional damage to their gadget. There are also some cool Skills likeActive Infection, which creates a biological damage cloud when their grenade affects Zeds. So, if players want to opt for more damage over support, the option is there, and when things get dicey, they still have the utility needed to get the team out of even the toughest situations.
Healing is one way of supporting the team, but the Medic has plenty of extra tools both in his Mods and his Skills that allow him to bring more than just extra health to the fight. One useful skill isAnesthetist, which turns the grenade into an AoE slowthat applies Enfeeble, reducing Zed attack and movement speed. Couple this with theConfusion Dart Attachment, and suddenly the Zeds barely know where to go and will have a hard time landing even a single hit on the player.
There are also a few more passive options likeStrength In Numbers, which grants a damage buff to allies within the Gadget’s area, andSteroid Injection, which grants a flat damage reduction buff to the Medic player while they are standing near a player or trader pod. These extra tools turn the Medic into more of a generalist who can heal teammates and grant them powerful buffs that can turn the tide of a fight in a matter of seconds.
When all else fails, sometimes mixing and matching can be the best way forward, and the Medic easily has some of the most flexible options when it comes to speccing into several different playstyles. Combining skills such asChemical Reactionwith others likePulmonologistallows the player to not only deal plenty of damage, but alsoremain a solid supportive characterfor the squad to rely on for heals.
Also, when it comes to overall weapon strength,Ammo Typesare always going to perform no matter if the player is a low-level Medic or a maxed-out Commando, as being able to target specific weaknesses can drastically improve the player’s power without sacrificing any of their existing abilities. Overall, flexibility is a fine way to play the class, and it can be especially useful when playing with a wide range of classes where specific strengths aren’t as necessary.
