Summary

One of the best projects in Dwayne Johnson’s Hollywood career is set to leaveNetflixsoon. If you wanna catch the entire thing, you better get started now.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnsonbecame a household name in the 1990s on the back of a monumentally successful wrestling career that led to the sort of crossover appeal few WWE stars have ever managed to get hold of. Still, few people would’ve watched The Rock in the ring in the late 1990s and thought he would become one of the faces ofDisney. Johnson has parleyed his appeal in both family films (Moana,The Game Plan,Jungle Cruise) and action thrillers (The Rundown,Fast Five,San Andreas) to become one of the biggest actors on the face of the planet. Somewhere in between starting his acting career and becoming the highest-paid star in Hollywood, Johnson executive produced and starred in an HBO show you can catch right now on Netflix.

Better Get Started If You Wanna Watch All Of It

BallersfollowsDwayne Johnson’s Spencer Strasmore, a former NFL player who gets involved in financial management after his playing career is prematurely cut short. He teams with Rob Corddry’s Joe Krutel to learn the ins and outs of the financial game, which he learns can be even more competitive than the professional football he used to play.Ballersis less of the straightforward drama you’d expect from HBO and more along the lines of something like an amalgamation ofTed Lasso,Entourage, andHouse of Lies.

Is there a dramatic aspect to the show? Of course there is. What would a television show about high-stakes finances be without narrative strife? If the addition of Rob Corddry didn’t give it away,Ballersis alsoa pretty funny series. Johnson and Corddry have an effortless chemistry that proves to be the backbone of the show. Of course, having John David Washington and Omar Miller as key members of the cast doesn’t hurt either, as both are beloved actors in their own right.

Throw in a dynamic supporting cast that features Arielle Kebbel, Dulé Hill,Christopher McDonald, Richard Schiff, Andy García, and Steve Guttenberg, and you have the makings of a good time. Not to mention the seemingly never-ending cameo parade featuring famous athletes like Steph Curry, Tony Hawk, DeAndre Hopkins, Caroline Wozniacki, and Von Miller. Simply put,Ballersis a fun show featuring an A-lister in the main role. Each and every Dwayne Johnson fan should give it a shot beforeNetflixloses the streaming rights.
