Thanks to his cheating money system, the more money he invests by being a sugar daddy for several women, the more money he earns. Thus, he spends every waking second of his life doing just that: tricking women into thinking he is interested in them, while using them for his broken money-earning system.
The more money he invests, the more the returns are. Nevertheless, Merlin always ends up creating more trouble, or more debt, much to the pain of poor and honest Alice, who is too good for him. He is so oblivious of her that it is painful to watch.
