Summary
Marvel Rivalsplayers have come together to ask NetEase Games to consider adding a female skin of the popular Strategist Loki to the hero shooter. NetEase Games recently released Season 3 ofMarvel Rivals, which introduced the mutant Jean Grey to the title’s ever-expanding roster as the Duelist Phoenix.
In addition to releasing a new character, NetEase Games added a new detection system that flags accounts suspected ofsmurfing inMarvel Rivals. Smurfing has been a growing issue since the game’s launch in December 2024, but this new system issues an automatic warning to those who may be breaking the rules. Unfortunately, it seems as if some innocent players are being flagged as well. One person claimed that they’d stepped away from the game for a couple of seasons, which caused them to lose several ranks. When starting to play again in Season 3, they were issued a warning for smurfing, which ultimately turned into a season-long ban from Competitive matches.
In a recentposton Reddit, one user shared an image of a female variant of Loki from the comics, asking NetEase Games to add that version of the character to the title. In the past, NetEase Games has stated that it doesn’t intend to release new characters as simple skins in the popular hero shooter. As an example, Miles Morales and Peter Parker would be different Spider-Man heroes, instead of just having different skins for the same hero. However,Marvel Rivals' Lokiis something of a special case, as he can alter his appearance at a moment’s notice. One person pointed out that such a skin would likely require new voice lines, which would add a layer of complexity to adding the cosmetic to the game.
