Summary
Mech Arenais a fast-pacedPvP arena-style gamewhere players control customizable mechs in intense, team-based combat. A range of weapons and mechs can be unlocked, all of which can be combined into customized and specialized builds.
InMech Arena, a hangar is considered to be a specific pre-built loadout for a mech that the player has unlocked, which they can bring into combat at any time. It combines a mech, a weapons loadout, and a pilot. Most veteran players will have several ready-built hangers that they can freely switch between when entering a match. As with mostcompetitive PvP games, there are some builds that are considered meta, due to their proven effectiveness.
Solid Sniper Build
This hangar build for the Bastion mech inMech Arena, is a long-rangesniper build, that also has some decent close-quarters combat capabilities. By relying on the capable EM Rifle long-range loadout, the Bastian can stay at long-range and pound enemies.
However, if needed, the player can close to short-range with a target stun them, and then unload the EM Rifles at point-blank range. The danger in doing this, is that the bastion has a pretty weak shield, and once it has been depleted, it becomes extremely vulnerable to enemy sniper mechs.
Flexible And Highly Agile
TheMech Arenahangar build is based around the highly agile Surge mech. It fills the role of anti-sniper mech. What makes this build quite powerful, is that if it is based around the Surge dash ability, it is possible to close on enemy mechs very rapidly, taking them down at point-blank range with a full magazine from both weapons.
However, the Disc Launcher weapons also have a decent range. This means that this build has the option of backing off from the general melee, to hide behind cover and pummel enemies from long range. The only real downside with this build is the fact that Surge relies on speed and agility to survive, and it takes some time to learn to play this build well because of this.
Long-Range Damage
Long-range buildsare always popular inMech Arena, especially with new players who have not mastered control of a range of mechs and their innate abilities. This Redeemer hangar is perfect for these players.
The EM Rifle is a solid long-range weapon, despite the fact it was nerfed somewhat a while ago. This build is easy to play, and simply requires the player to keep the mech behind cover whilst reloading, before sidestepping into the clear, to fire off a full barrage from its EM Rifle weapons.
Agile Ambush Build
ThisMech Arenahangar build is the first of the builds on this list that can be considered overpowered in some way. However, this build requires a style of play that just doesn’t seem sensible at first, at least until it has been tried.
This is because the Eclipse Rails build is used in a very strange way. Due to its excellent mobility and good survivability, the Eclipse doesn’t need to rely on a duck and cover style of long-range combat. The trick with this build, is to move quickly around the map, hunting out exposed enemy mechs and then quickly sniping them from range before moving on.
Flexible And Agile
The Panther is a mech that has a great balance of speed, agility, and survivability. Meaning that it can move around the battlefield rapidly, and if it gets in trouble, can retreat very quickly. Loading a Panther with Disc Launchers makes good sense keeping these benefits in mind when playing thisarena shooter.
Disc Launchers are considered long-range weapons. However, the simple truth is, that these unguided weapons work equally well at dealing damage when up close. Having them mounted on a Panther gives the player the option of either staying at range, or closing in for a kill on isolated enemy mechs at close range.
Tanky Brawler
As overpowered hangar builds go inMech Arena, the Bastion Disc build isn’t just insanely capable, it is very easy to use. The Bastion is a very tanky mech, although it does give up speed and agility for this. That being said, it is so tanky that in the right hands, it can dominate the battlefield by simply outsurviving opponents that it tackles at close range.
This build is very easy to play, but it won’t be available to new players inMech Arenafor quite some time, as it relies on some unlocks that will take some time to achieve. Its only real vulnerability is to snipers, although this is not so much of a problem as long as the player remains aware of where incoming damage is coming from.
Works At All Ranges
ThisMech Arenahangar build is quite simply insane. Surge is a very fast and agile mech, and Railguns are a fast-firing, hard-hitting, and accurate weapon that works well at all ranges. Combined, this results in a build that can be used in any game mode, at any range in thiscompetitive combat game.
The trick when playing a Surge Rails build, is to think about positioning at all times. Keep moving, make sure to stay behind cover when possible, and then swoop on exposed enemy mechs for a quick kill.
