Metroid Prime 4: Beyondhas received an age rating, which emerged alongside a second report that claims a new Nintendo Direct is on the horizon. As things currently stand, there is a plausible chance that theMetroid Prime 4release date announcement will finally arrive in the final days of July 2025.
Originally announced in 2017, thefourth numberedMetroid Primegame was reportedly rebootedtwo years later. It wasn’t until June 2024 that Nintendo finally treated Samus’s next big adventure to a gameplay reveal, when it also said that the title was targeting a 2025 launch. While a second gameplay trailer materialized in March 2025,Metroid Prime 4is still waiting for a concrete release date.
On July 25, the upcoming action adventure received a classification from the South Korean Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC),VGCreports. The regulator labeled the game as suitable for ages 12 and up, which is consistent with the age ratings attached to the prior installments in theMetroid Primefranchise. In general, game classifications alone don’t indicate an imminent release, as they are typically based on product descriptions rather than playable builds. However, in this case, the timing suggests Nintendo may be completing the final legal steps ahead of an international launch, particularly since the company has already confirmed a 2025 release window forMetroid Prime 4.
Metroid Prime 4 Release Date May Be Announced Before the End of the Month
Earlier this week, well-known leaker NateTheHatereported that another Nintendo Direct is planned to happen in late July 2025. VGC subsequently corroborated this claim with its own industry sources. WithMetroid Prime 4targeting a 2025 release and the year being more than halfway over, this rumored Nintendo Direct seems like an obvious opportunity for its release date to finally be announced.
Nintendo Directs historically take place most often on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursday, with Wednesday being the most common weekly slot in recent years. Nintendo typically announces these broadcasts a day in advance. Therefore, if another event is indeed planned for late July 2025, it’s likely to be officially confirmed no later than the 29th, which falls on a Tuesday.
BeyondMetroid Prime 4, the potential contents of the rumored Direct are unknown. There is less ambiguity around the likely timing of the game’s release; given Nintendo’s pattern of announcing launch dates several months in advance,Metroid Prime 4is most likely to debut in the lead-up to the 2025 holiday season, or possibly at its very start. WithPokemon Legends: Z-Aset to launch on October 16, a mid-October release appears unlikely, but any time between then and Thanksgiving remains a plausible window.
