Summary

Many talented builders inMinecrafthave thought up plenty of awesome End Portal room designs over the years, but many building enthusiasts have recently been inspired by one fan’s incredible underwater End Portal project, which sees this rare structure contained within a clearing constructed within the depths of an ocean. With everyMinecraftworld containing naturally-generated End Portals to accommodate travel to the game’s End dimension, players who like to fill their worlds with grand structures of their own tend to find genius ways of transforming End Portal chambers into breathtaking landmarks.

Terraforming large expanses of land andconstructing mega bases inMinecraftare both popular activities among players who invest a lot of time into the game, and they’re certainly not quick or easy projects to undertake. Whether a build requires digging out an entire chunk or drying up part of an ocean, players will need a lot of existing infrastructure in place to ensure they have the resources and tools they need. With End Portals exclusively being found in stronghold structures that only spawn deep beneath the surface of the Overworld, players looking to build a giant portal base of their own should be sure they’re ready to do a lot of digging.

That is, unless they’re presented with the somewhat rare generation of a Stronghold underneathone ofMinecraft’s ocean biomes. While working underwater inMinecraftis generally a lot more difficult, a gorgeous build shared online by a fan known as Quicotex_23 demonstrates how the player took advantage of an underwater stronghold to create a natural-looking “underwater lake” structure to house their End Portal base. This undoubtedly massive project required the player to dry up a huge patch of ocean, and features a completely open sky with the surrounding ocean biome remaining visible above as huge walls of water that border the build.

How This Minecraft Player Built an End Portal Base Inside an Ocean

The various chunks of dry land contained within was then terraformed and carefully shaped using dirt blocks and plantlife brought in from the surface. Within this clearing is a beautiful underwater lake that houses the End Portal, which itself has been further decorated with the addition of End crystals. It appears the entire stronghold structure it was once a part of has been manually removed in its entirety, and the lake even contains a Nether portal which connects to a portal that the player built upon the ceiling ofMinecraft’s Nether dimension.

Needless to say, this incredibly impressive build has done more than just show fans a cool construction project – it has helped inspire many to populate their worlds with genius structures of their own making. While it’s normal for mostMinecraftplayers to struggle with knowing what to buildin their worlds, many talented builders continue to frequently show off their boundless creativity with unique and fascinating projects even after more than a decade since the game’s official release.
