Minecraft’s New Shelves and Copper Golem Combine Form and Function
After appearing to have fallen victim to the same fate as other Mob Vote losers, the Copper Golem’s comeback has been welcomed by players across social media - especially given the mob’s new, more useful inventory-sorting mechanics.

When powered by redstone, these shelf blocks can allow players to swap out their item bar, something which players could use to tailor their gear when farming, mining, or exploring. However, with the variety of existing wood types and the lack of vertical slabs, players are already demonstratingthe creative potential ofMinecraft’s shelf blocksacross social media.
Mojang’s Position on Furniture in Minecraft Might Be Outdated, and Future Decorations Can Address It

Somewhat paradoxically, Mojang states that it doesn’t want to inhibit the natural creativity of players, yet players continue to use this exact freedom in unexpected or unintended ways, regardless of what each new update brings. For instance, despiteMojang’s functional approach to Copper Golemsand shelves, players are once again proving the potential and demand for more decorative blocks.
Given that Mojang turned down decorations before its shift to content drops and supposedly hasn’t updated the “Previously Considered Suggestions” page since 2020, these new blocks and mobs could allow Mojang the chance to reevaluate this position.
