It originally debuted in South Korea—the home country of its developer, NCSoft—in December 2023. Throne and Liberty English Version Hit With Small Delay
And while that is still the plan, the MMORPG has now suffered a small delay, as Amazon’s game publishing armannouncedthatThrone and Libertywill miss its September 17 release date and instead launch on October 1. The start of its five-day early access period has consequently been pushed back to September 26. Elaborating on the reasons for this decision, Amazon explained that NCSoft needs more time to implement changes stemming from player feedback following the game’s open beta, which ran between July 18 and July 24. Among other things, the developer plans to improve manyThrone and Libertygameplay systems, ranging from combat and leveling to guild mechanics.
NCSoft is also currently working on adding some new features that weren’t part of the open beta, although most of them had already debuted in the South Korean version of the MMORPG. These include new skill specializations that will deepen theThrone and Libertyleveling mechanics, offering players even more ways to customize their combat experience. A fishing minigame is also in the pipeline, together with cooking mechanics. Aside from ingredients, cooking will require recipes that will be categorized into groups dedicated to attack, defense, utility, and life effects.
The developer is also planning to add Amitoi expeditions, which is a system that allows players to send their pets on missions that they can complete on their own. Aside from helping players make progress at all times, the expeditions also incentivize frequent logins. Similar features have long been a staple of free-to-play games. Amazon said that all of these upcoming additions are planned to be made available from day one.
While the game will be free for anyone to jump into, players can optionally buy one of its early access packs, which start at $29.99. Aside from the privilege of playing the MMORPG five days before its official release, these add-ons also come with some bonusThrone and Libertyweapons, outfits, Morphs, titles, and currency, among other perks.
