Summary
The first and second seasons of theMushoku Tenseianime series have covered Rudeus’ childhood and adolescence periods, respectively. The third season of the anime is expected to cover Rudeus’ Young Man period, or at least a part of it. Up until now, each season oftheMushoku Tenseianime serieshas covered six volumes each of the light novel, and the third season is expected to do the same. However, with Rudeus’ young man period being 14 volumes long, the third season will most likely be unable to cover everything, but at the very least, the first five-six seasons are expected to be covered. As fans wait for the third season to air, the question remains—what sort of activities and drama will Rudeus involve himself in this time?
A New Beginning
Season 3’s Lighthearted Start In Mushoku Tensei
With the second seasonofMushoku Tenseiending on such a high note withPaul’s death and Zenith’s condition, the third season starts off on a lighter note with Rudeus simply enjoying his time with his family. With no new drama in his life, Rudeus finally marries Roxy, and while some of his friends initially show discomfort, they eventually accept it as they accept that Rudeus isn’t a follower of Millis. At the end of the second season ofMushoku Tensei, Rudeus was all set to marry Roxy; however, she chose to wait until Sylphy, who was already pregnant, gave birth.
After marrying Roxy, the years go by, and Rudeus finally graduates fromRanoa MagicAcademy, which in itself is an achievement. Right from the start, Rudeus had always outclassed the school and hardly needed the teachings; however, with all the drama in his life, he was constantly going in and out of school. But by completing his years and curing his erectile dysfunction, he had little need to be in school and graduated. As the days went by, Rudeus spent his time teaching Norn swordsmanship as he took care of his wives and children.
Finally, with Nanahoshi entering the fourth stage of her teleportation experiment, she and Rudeus had the need to meet Perugius Dola,the Armored Dragon King.
The Arrival Of Future Rudeus
Rudeus Rekindles Old Flames And Fights A Deadly Battle
Perhaps the most anticipated part of the next season is the appearance of the future Rudeus. With a Rudeus set to come from the future, fans are expectant of what news he’ll bring with him. But as fans of the light novel know, future Rudeus comes to present Rudeus with a ton of warningsabout the Man Godand the things that are set to occur but must be changed for Rudeus to have a happier life. One of the many things that Rudeus must do is contact Eris, and in doing so, Eris and Rudeus rekindle their old love. But whether or not the current wives will accept her is a whole different matter entirely.
As fans know, Eris left Rudeus because she felt she was weak and only holding him back. On coming back, she didn’t come back as the weak girl who left him, but as a bona fide sword king. With her newfound strength, Eris became capable of helping Rudeus in battles and shone with her warrior-conditioned personality. However, because she was so warrior-like, she also found it hard to behave like a wife, and amidst the possibility of Rudeus' wives—Sylphy and Roxy—not accepting her, she also thought herself to be inferior, at least in matters of a woman.
Outside of Eris’ inferiority complex to Rudeus’ wives, her strength comes into play as Rudeus decides to kill Orsted at the Man God’s behest under the condition that the Man God would leave him and his family alone.
A rematch betweenOrsted, the Dragon God, and Rudeus is set to be no joke, as Rudeus would intentionally be going to battle Orsted, unlike last time when he chanced upon him. While Orsted is immensely powerful, Rudeus’ abilities are not to be underestimated. Knowing he’ll be unable to face Orsted with his current capabilities, Rudeus enlists the help of his friends, and Cliff even makes him magic armor.
Rudeus Gets Involved In Politics
Rudeus Encounters Hitogami’s Apostles
After Rudeus' battle with Orsted, one thing led to another, and Rudeus was set to makePrincess Ariel of Asura, Queen of Asura. So far, Rudeus has always kept away from politics, but with Sylphy deeply involved with Princess Ariel, alongside external influences, Rudeus didn’t have much of a choice. In clearing Ariel’s path to Queenship, Rudeus discovered many of Hitogami’s apostles, and because of the complicated relationships he had with some of the apostles, some were pardoned while others were killed off.
So far, only a teaser trailer ofMushoku Tenseihas been shown, and fans are eagerly awaiting it. While the beginning of the third season is set to start off slowlyportraying Rudeus’everyday life, the latter part of the season is expected to come action-packed, and fans are no doubt hyped for it.
