However, leaks are inevitable to some degree, even for major movies such asAvengers: Doomsday, which is currently under development.
Filming is ongoing forAvengers: Doomsday,and despite the large cast and numerous personnel working on the film, details have been kept fairly tight. However, one slip-up has occurred, and surprisingly, it was a member of the cast who let it slip.
Alan Cumming will be part ofAvengers: Doomsday, marking his first-ever appearance in a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie as he reprises his role as Nightcrawler from the originalX-Mentrilogy.It’s a big moment for him, but he ended up teasing that he’s going to end up in a fight scene withPedro Pascal’s Mister Fantastic. That’s something that he got in trouble for, as Cumming revealed when interviewing the cast ofThe Fantastic Four: First StepsonJimmy Kimmel.

Cumming previously toldBuzzfeed UK,“I’m sort of learning these fights, and I’m like, ‘What? Who am I fighting with? And they said, ‘You’re hitting Pedro Pascal against the head,’ or something.”It was an interesting comment that sparked considerable interest among Marvel fans, as the idea of theX-Men and the Fantastic Four fighting each otherwas something people hadn’t expected when the cast was announced. While it’s unknown whether they will end up teaming with Doctor Doom and being villains, it does seem to be set that the two teams will at least come to blows at one moment.
While Pascal claimed that he had not fought Cumming during their interview onJimmy Kimmel, the initial comments from theX-Menstar seemed concrete. However, there have been reports thatthe final script forAvengers: Doomsdayis still not finished, which is one of the reasons why the movie’s release has been delayed by nine months. That also means there could have been changes made to what is expected to happen, although Pascal’s claim may simply have been to just put people off the slip-up that Cumming had initially made.
Cumming is one of several originalX-Menactors reprising his role to be part of the MCU, showcasing the team for the first time in this franchise. While theX-Menare expected to be rebooted post-Avengers: Secret Wars, seeing the likes of Nightcrawler, Magneto, and Cyclops in the MCU is something that a lot of fans are excited aboutheading intoAvengers: Doomsday.It’s one of the most interesting aspects of the film, as there is no expectation as to what people can expect from the X-Men within the MCU.So far, a few characters have appeared, including Wolverine, Beast, and Professor X, who have made appearances in movies at different points,but this will be a totally different experience. However, Cumming’s comments aboutAvengers: Doomsdaywere a harsh lesson for him about the strictness that Marvel Studios implements for these movies.
