There is no shortage of powerful characters inNaruto. Even in the first half of the series, fans got the opportunity to see some insanely strong individuals, who could go toe-to-toe with a Kage. Itachi Uchiha Was Stronger Than Obito

Itachi Kept Obito’s Influence In Check

After Madara convinced Obito to follow the plan to cast the Infinite Tsukuyomi, he put the latter in charge. With Madara gone, Obito was free topull the reins of the Akatsuki. He took the alias of Tobi and pretended to be a goofball. His act tricked the majority of the Akatsuki, but not Itachi. Unlike most Akatsuki members, Itachi was extremely intelligent. He was highly perceptive, so it was almost impossible to fool him.

Itachi Was The Best When It Came To Genjutsu

When it comes to ninjas with high potential, Itachi is one of the first names that comes to mind. From a young age, Itachi was said to have the same level of thinking as a Hokage. Naturally, he aced all the exams in the Academy and passed with flying colors. Itachi was also skilled with different nature releases, and he could use them flawlessly.

However,Itachi’s biggest strength was the Sharingan. He awakened the dojutsu at a young age and learned to use it in next to no time. Itachi awakened the Mangekyou Sharingan after witnessing Shisui’s suicide. The Mangekyou Sharingan significantly boosted Itachi’s strength, as it granted him three new abilities. These were:

With Tsukuyomi, Itachi could put even the most skilled ninjas in Genjutsu. Once caught, they could not escape until Itachi undid the technique. He famously used the Genjutsu on Kakashi, which left the Jonin hospitalized for days. Itachi even managed to trick Kurenai, who was the best Genjutsu user in the Hidden Leaf.

Itachi’s Amaterasu allowed him to create black flames that didn’t stop burning until the target was completely incinerated. The only drawback was that it took a heavy toll on Itachi’s stamina and eyesight because he had a regular Mangekyou Sharingan.

Itachi had Susanoo as his trump card. He used it in the fight against Sasuke to deal away Orochimaru and protect himself from any lethal attacks. What made Itachi’s Susanoo special were the Yata Mirror and the Sword of Totsuka. The latter was able to seal away anything that it touched. The Yata Mirror was capable of nullifying any incoming attacks. Even Zetsu admitted that these items made Itachi’s Susanoo invincible.

It’s rather apparent that Obito had absolutely no chance of winning against Itachi, which is why he trod so carefully.

Despite being so powerful, Itachi lived a horrible life that was full of guilt, trauma, and sadness. He lost his best friend, had to kill his own parents, and traumatized his brother. He was called a traitor and murderer and hounded by the village. However, the truth was very different.

Itachi then left the village and joined the Akatsuki to keep an eye on the organization’s plans. Even after being ostracized, Itachicared about the Hidden Leaf. While Itachi carried a lot of sadness, the biggest reason for his misery was not being honest with Sasuke. Itachi loved his younger brother, and he meant everything to him. Thankfully, Itachi got the chance to reconcile with Sasuke after being reanimated by Kabuto. But there is no denying that Itachi deserved a second shot at life.
