Epic Games revealed thatFortnitehas received a new Expert game mode that removes skill-based matchmaking from Duos in Fortnite OG. It seems as if Epic Games has been busy creatingFortnitegame modes, as it recently launched Blitz Royale, which is moving from a temporary mode to a permanent one after its immediate success.
Players recently noticed theFortnite OG could be teasing something big, as its recent live event didn’t quite go as planned. Initially, many players believed Fortnite OG’s rocket launch live event would be a simple replay ofFortnite’s first live event. However, shortly before the rocket took off, a red butterfly appeared and flew into it. When the rocket shot into the sky, it created a massive red rift. While butterflies and rifts have become commonplace inFortnite, they’ve always been blue. The presence of this red variant clearly indicates some kind of change, though players aren’t sure what it could mean just yet. Many people seem to believe that Fortnite OG’s timeline could be branching off from the main one, making it more of a parallel universe.
In a recent post on Twitter, Epic Games revealed that Fortnite OG has launched a new Expert Duos mode. While the mode still features the same map and loot pool as the rest of Fortnite OG, it lacks skill-based matchmaking. This means that, when players log in to play the new Expert mode, they will be placed into a lobby of players with a wide range of skill levels. When Epic Gamesfirst launched Fortnite OG, there was no skill-based matchmaking. While this could make for some frustrating moments, it made every match an unpredictable experience. This changed when Epic Games enabled SBMM and added bots shortly after the classic game mode’s release, which caused quite a bit of controversy within the community.
Fortnite OG’s Expert Duos Mode Lacks Skill-Based Matchmaking
It was recently revealed thatFortnite’s Blitz Royale will also be receiving two new game modescalled Pure Chaos and Six Stack. Pure Chaos increases the amount of siphon present during a match, while Six Stack allows gamers to team-up in groups of six for the first time in Blitz Royale. Epic Games has hinted that it may consider adding additional team sizes to Blitz Royale in the future as well.
Fortniteis also collaborating with the popular streamer Ninja, declaring that he is now the Blitz Boss. The collaboration is scheduled to begin on August 2 and will add new mythic items like Blitz Boss Ninja’s Trash Launcher and Blitz Boss Ninja’s Get Good Shotgun to the game. Ninja’s Icon skin will also be receiving a Blitz variant, which is free for players who already own the cosmetic. With so much content to enjoy and even more just around the corner, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future ofFortnite.
