Summary
Minecraft Java Editionhas released a new snapshot that adds bundles, giving players a new way to store their items.Minecraftis constantly expanding with the support of updates and snapshots from Mojang. Snapshots are ways forMinecraftplayers to test and offer input on features that aren’t yet officially in the game.
This year’s snapshots tested various features, such as new music disks, songs, and newpaintings forMinecraftplayers. Two other features tested this year, which eventually made it into the Tricky Trials update, were the Mace, one of the new weapons in Mojang’s sandbox, and the Wind Charge, an item ideal for parkour and creating new combat possibilities. For the more adventurous players, the Bogged, a new skeleton variant, was also one of the features released this year via aMinecraftsnapshot before being officially available in the game.Minecrafthas now released a new snapshot, and players can try out a previously unused feature.
Minecraft Java Editionhas brought back the bundle as one of the features in snapshot 24w33a. With the bundle,Minecraftplayers can stack different blocks or items in the same inventory slot, which is not normally possible. Mojang first tested the bundle in 2020 but never made it into the game, and it became one of thescrappedMinecraftfeatures. In this new iteration, Mojang has made some changes, including reducing the crafting cost to make the bundle more accessible. To test the new feature,Minecraftplayers must create a new world with the bundle experiment activated.
Another highlight of snapshot 24w33a is the inclusion of several changes related to theuse of Redstone inMinecraft, such as improving the performance of the Redstone wire. Minecarts have also received changes which, according to Mojang, aim to make them a viable option for vehicle travel compared to other more popular ones for most players. With this, Minecarts in snapshot 24w33a are now faster and jump better, improving the experience forMinecraftplayers. Another addition to the snapshot is the FPS limiter in certain situations, such as when theMinecraftplayer is AFK.
As well as adding new features for testing,Minecraftsnapshot 24w33a includes a fix for more than 30 bugs, such as the incorrect display of Elytra’s perspective. To test the snapshot,Minecraft Java Editionplayers should open the game’s launcher and activate the snapshots option in the “Installations” tab. It’s worth noting that the snapshots are test versions, so players should run them in a different folder from theirmainMinecraftworlds.
Instruments
Goat Horn instruments are now defined in a data pack registry folder called instruments. Like other registries, changing this content in data packs is considered experimental and requires a full world re-load to take effect.
