Through a Twitter post, Nickmercs revealed that his deal with Kick has concluded and that he plans on returning to Twitch, though not precisely in an exclusive manner. The streamer thanked Kick for the support and gave his best wishes to the brand. “Moving forward, we will be primarily on Twitch,” wrote Nickmercs. “Though no platform is perfect, I believe this is best for the community.” It’s worth noting that Nickmercs and the Amazon-owned platform had a rough patch earlier this year.Twitch temporarily banned Nickmercsfor using an offensive term to describe transgender people, but the ban was reduced due to unclear policies. After the 10-day break, he continued to stream occasionally on Twitch to his 6.7 million followers.

Under his tweet, Nickmercs’ fans praised the announcement and expressed their excitement for his return to Twitch. Nickmercs’ use of the term “primarily” could mean that he would still produce some content on Kick. The streamer also replied that he was considering streaming on Twitter as well. On the other hand, Nickmercs is known for his controversial remarks regarding politics, which has gotten him into trouble with companies like Activision. Considering thatTwitch has added a warning label for political contentand social issues, the streamer may have to better differentiate his political livestreams from his gaming ones to avoid another potential ban.
Although Nickmercs hasn’t shared any details on what games he will be streaming on Twitch, he has clearly stated one title he won’t play. Despite its popularity,Nickmercs will not streamCall of Duty: Black Ops 6, partially because of the bad blood he shares with its developer. As for Kick, its deal with Nickmercs may be over, but the platform is still going strong with big streamers like Adin Ross and xQc on its sidelines. Ross' stream with President Donald Trump even broke Kick’s peak viewership record with over 580,000 spectators. It was also reported in October that Kick is working on a program to start paying its viewers, which could attract new users while encouraging current ones to stay.
