Earlier this month, Nintendo released Switch Update 19.0.0, which improved stability across nearly every system component.
While this was done mainly to enhance the user experience, there were reportedly a few drawbacks to the most recent Nintendo Switch update. Not too long after Switch Update 19.0.0 went live on October 7, players began claiming that they were having problems with sleep mode, battery life, downloads, and even the console overheating. Others reportedly experienced issues with theNintendo GameCube controller adapter, saying that it wouldn’t function until they restarted their Nintendo Switch.
These users have continued reporting their problems to Nintendo, and some of the issues in question are being addressed in yet another new update. Earlier this week, Nintendo launched Switch version 19.0.1, a smaller update that corrects the issue of the Nintendo GameCube Controller Connection Tap not being recognized by the console. It also fixes a glitch that prevents communicationprocesses like Switch software downloadsfrom functioning properly during sleep mode. Additionally, an issue causing battery life estimates to be incorrect has been addressed.
As previously mentioned, plenty of Nintendo fans are looking to the future and the impending announcement of the next Nintendo console. The tentatively named Switch 2 will reportedly be unveiled sometime before the end of the current fiscal year next March, but it’s anyone’s guess when exactly the company will pull back the curtain on its newest piece of hardware. Recently,Nintendo chip manufacturer Macronixhinted that the console could launch sometime within the next few quarters, and many believe the announcement could happen in the next few weeks.
In the meantime, Nintendo is continuing to support the currentNintendo Switchconsole, which has becomeone of the best-selling systems of all timesince its initial launch back in 2017.
