Nintendo has revealed the updated list of the best-sellingNintendo Switchgames of all time. TheNintendo Switchis on its way to becoming the best-selling Nintendo console ever, within striking distance of the DS. A big reason why the Switch has been such a monumental success is because of its massive library of high-quality games.
Since the Nintendo Switch launched in 2017, Nintendo and third-party partners have released all kinds ofSwitch gamesto a great deal of commercial and critical success. The console has truly built one of the most impressive libraries in the history of the industry, with Nintendo updating everyone on its best-performing titles ever quarter.
Unsurprisingly, the latest update toNintendo’s list of best-selling Switch gamesis unchanged when it comes to the order, though every game in the top 10 has shipped more units.Mario Kart 8 Deluxeremains the best-selling Switch game by a significant margin at 68.86 million units sold, whileAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsmaintains second place with 48.19 million. At this stage in the game, it seems unlikely that the top 10 is going to change all that much, but it is possible thatNew Super Mario Bros. U Deluxewill eventually get knocked off. After all,Super Mario Party Jamboreeis considered one of the best games in series history, and so one has to imagine that it will eventually surpassSuper Mario Party, which is currently ahead ofNSMBU Deluxe. With the Switch 2 now out, though, it’s possible that most Nintendo fans will be focusing on that console’s lineup of exclusive games.
Once enough Switch 2 exclusives have been released, it will be very interesting to see what games prove to be the most popular on the platform.Mario Kart Worldis comfortably in first placewith 5.62 million units sold, butDonkey Kong Bananzawill most likely make the list as well. There have yet to be any brand-newZeldaorMariogames released for the Switch 2 yet, but when they do eventually launch, one has to wonder how their sales will stack up compared toBreath of the WildandTears of the Kingdom.
