Talks of price hikes in the U.S. market have been going on for months at Nintendo, and while no specifics were given, market conditions were listed as the reason for the change. In February, company president Shuntaro Furukawa publicly addressedtariff concerns regarding the Switch 2, and multiple statements over the following months have indicated that officials would be keeping a close eye on the topic, with the possibility of higher prices looming.

Nintendo’s official websitehas now announced that the pricing change will take place on July 20, 2025, and it will affect the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch - OLED Model, Nintendo Switch Lite, and multiple unspecified accessories. In addition, someAmiibo figurines are getting more expensive again, following an announcement that the company made back in April, and Nintendo fans seeking a Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo should also expect to pay more unless they make their purchases before the price changes go into effect.

The officialNintendo online storehas not reflected any price changes yet, though the announcement states that the shop will be updated on August 3. Nintendo has not given any specific information on what the new prices for Nintendo Switch consoles or accessories will be, but reputable leaker CentroLeaks has provided some possible new prices from retailer Target for the three different models of the console. According to its report, the Nintendo Switch - OLED Model will see a $50 price jump to $399.99. The classic model is expected to rise by $40 to $339.99, with the portable Switch Lite rising $30 to $229.99. There’s no official confirmation that these prices are correct, but Nintendo fans don’t have to wait long to confirm them.

Unlike its predecessor, theprice of the Nintendo Switch 2will not be changing at this time, remaining at its initial $449.99 price point. Additionally, prices of both physical and digital copies of games for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 will remain unchanged for now, as will the subscription fee for Nintendo Switch Online memberships. However, the official announcement states that Nintendo is continuing to monitor the financial outlook of the U.S. market, and future price hikes are a possibility.
