Up until 2024, developer Halo Studios — formerly 343 Industries — had taken a seasonal approach to the game’s support, adding numerous seasonal updates, balance tweaks, and content expansions that kept online play fresh and alive. Although Halo Studios has dropped the seasonal update cycle in favor of tiered Operation Passes, a recentsummer update forHalo Infinitedemonstrated the developer’s continued dedication to the game’s support, adding a brand-new weapon and several cosmetic items in the form of a new battle pass.
According to an eSportsupdatefrom Halo Studios,Halo Infinitewill be retired from the Halo Championship Series after its final outing at the 2025 Halo World Championship, which is being held in Seattle from October 24-26. While Halo Studios affirmed their support forHalo Infiniteside events, such as online and LAN competitions, the official Halo Championship Series will be taking a hiatus. As for when the Halo Championship Series will return with a new title, the update confirms it will not be in 2026.
