There are plenty of things to do inOnce Human, and while you’re out there exploring the ruins of civilization or fighting eldritch horrors in parallel dimensions, there’s also a list of secondary challenges that you can complete for decent rewards. One such challenge involves performing Incendiary Blasts, though the game doesn’t really tell players how to do those.
Incendiary Blasts may seem like some fancy power, but they’re actually much simpler than they sound. Evenbeginners inOnce Humancan complete Incendiary Blast challenges, but if you’re not quite sure what to do, here’s a short guide to help you out.
What Is Incendiary Blast (& How To Do It)
Incendiary Blast simply refers to using weapons and throwables that deal direct fire damage to defeat targets. As of writing, the only known way to do this so far is to use a Molotov Cocktail. The game’s promotional material does include aFlamethrowerin one of the screenshots, but time will tell if kills with that weapon count towards Incendiary Blast challenges.
InSeason 1 ofOnce Human, there’s a challenge under the first phase that asks players to eliminate Tangled Vine with an Incendiary Blast during the Treant challenge. To do this, you need to fight the Treant boss and kill one of the three roots in the boss arena using a Molotov Cocktail. The molotovs themselves may not be enough to score the final blow, so instead of chucking multiple bottles at a single vine, weaken one with your primary weapon first before throwing.
You should be able to complete the challenge without having to beat the boss itself. If you plan on continuing the boss fight, we recommend against using Controllers on low-level Normal mode bosses, as the rewards are usually less valuable than the Controller itself.
For those who aren’t unaware, Treant is the boss in the Gaia Cliff Monolith. You’ll have to fight it as part ofOnce Human’s Murmurs in the Forest quest line.
Where To Get Molotov Cocktails
You can get standard Molotov Cocktails from looting containers all over the open world. They’re fairly common, and unless you use them frequently, you should have a decent stock of them saved up in your inventory.
Once you unlock theExplosive Throwablesmemetic node, you’ll be able to craftImproved Molotov Cocktailsin your base. They do a bit more damage than the regular variants, and you can make as many as you want at aSynthesis Bench, assuming you have enough materials.
Completing Seasonal Challenges rewards players with Mitsuko’s Marks, which can be spent at the seasonal shop to obtain cosmetics and building pieces. Earn enough marks, and you’ll eventually reach a reward threshold in your current Seasonal Challenges list. This is one of the best ways toget large amounts of Starchrom inOnce Human, so don’t ignore your seasonal challenges.
