Once Human’sweapon customization system provides a solid means of letting players tailor their guns to their preference. This system features multiple different weapon parts, including theLarge Brake, an accessory for making weapons more accurate.

There are plenty ofweapon accessories inOnce Human, and while the game points players to their general locations, searching for attachments this way would be like finding a needle in a haystack. If you’re looking for the Large Brake in particular, here’s a short guide covering its location and some notes on how practical it is.

The Large Break’s description in Once Human

Once Human Large Brake Location

The Large Break can be found by solving a puzzle deep in the Red Sands. you’re able to find the puzzle on the road between the Forsaken Monolith and 73 Source Extraction Point, with the latter being one of the best places tofind Morel Seeds inOnce Human. There’s a round rock formation visible on the map; use that to guide your way.

Unlocking the Large Brake involves a billboard puzzle. Thankfully, this one is pretty easy to solve. Look for some traffic cones on the ground and stand in the middle of their square formation. Interact with the prompt that appears, then adjust your camera until the two broken billboards align with each other, forming one complete billboard. Once that’s done, a loot chest will appear out of thin air. Open it, and the Large Brake along with a bunch of other rewards will be yours.

Despite being in a high-level area, even low-level players can get the Large Brake after they finish the quests in the Dayton Wetlands. Grab your bike, and ride all the way to the north until you reach the location above. This will only work if the server has reached its second phase or whichever phase where the entire map is unlocked.

What Does The Large Brake Do?

The Large Brake is a muzzle device that improves the range and accuracy of assault rifles, sniper rifles, and light machine guns. It provides the following stats:

As of writing, the game doesn’t tell players what weapon stats do, leading to confusion when it comes to the difference between Accuracy and Stability. From our testing using a SOCR Outsider rifle, it seems like Stability affects how strong your weapon’s recoil is, while Accuracy reduces bullet spread when firing.

If you want your weapon to be as steady as possible when shooting, then stacking Stability is the way to go. The difference between a SOCR Outsider with 38 Stability and one with 65 usingOnce Human’sHammer Compensatoris very noticeable. Meanwhile, bullet spread appears to depend on what weapon you’re using. A 50 Accuracy sniper rifle is significantly more accurate than a 50 Accuracy LMG.

Unfortunately, the +4 Range from the Large Break doesn’t seem to do much, at least in so far as the SOCR Outsider is concerned. The rifle experiences damage fall-off at around 34 meters by default — equipping the Large Brake does not change this. We recommend using the Large Break only if you’re using a low-accuracy weapon like the MG4 Predator.
