One Pieceiscurrently in the Elbaf arc, and most fans would agree that this arc has been absolutely sensational so far. While Egghead was phenomenal already, this arc has far surpassed it, and will most likely reach another level once the main battles begin.
For now, Oda is exploring the Loki flashback, and by far, the most exciting part of it all has been Oda revealing the legend of Rocks D. Xebec to the fans. Rocks is seemingly getting more attention with each passing chapter, and it seems he will continue to be the focus of the upcoming few chapters. InOne Piecechapter 1155, Oda finally revealed Rocks’s special fighting style to the fans, and it is this very fighting style that Roger and Shanks use
Roger And Shanks Use Haki Shockwaves In Attacks
When it comes to the fighting style of Roger and Shanks, fans don’t know much, but what is clear is that both of them use swords as their primary weapon of choice. Roger was first confirmed to be a user of the blade inOne Piecechapter 965, where he clashed with Oden, and it was here that he used a very special technique called Kamusari.
What was that? I need to have a word with you! — Oden after being with Kamusari
Meanwhile, fans know very well that Shanks can use this technique as well, and he first utilized it against Eustass Kid.Both Roger and Shanks are incredibly powerful blade users, but neither of them actually cuts with their blades. Shanks and Roger use their swords to generate blunt blows through shockwaves. In a way, it’s like being hit with a hammer and being blown away. Now, Oda has confirmed where this fighting style comes from.
Roger And Shanks’s Fighting Style Was Taken From Rocks D. Xebec
Rocks D. Xebec Was The Original User Of This Style
While fans thought Roger invented Kamusari, that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. This technique, or rather the style of fighting, was created by Rocks D. Xebec. It is said that Rocks’s sword techniques generate blows that feel like a hammer or a cannon and he was particularly famous for blowing everything in his surroundings away.

Naturally, he came up with this fighting style. Later on, this style was also used by Roger, as confirmed in his battle against Whitebeard. Roger most definitelytook it from Rocks D. Xebec, possibly during the God Valley Incident, or maybe in the battle that took place a year before.
Shanks, on the other hand, learned this technique from Roger by merely observing him. It must be remembered that Shanks was younger than 15 when he learned how to use it.
Roger Likely Surpassed Rocks
The fact that Roger later went on to use Rocks’s techniques seems to indicate that he actually got stronger after the defeat of Rocks at God Valley. By incorporating his technique into his own arsenal,Roger became an even bigger monster, and it explains why he is considered the greatest pirate.
