Roronoa Zoro, the Swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates, has always had a character arc that focuses heavily on him getting stronger to accomplish his dreams. Right now,One Pieceis close to its end, with the Final Saga being 3 years in now, and that only means every single Straw Hat is now incredibly close to achieving their dreams.
Luffy is already a Yonko and is about to get the Fourth Road Poneglyph, and Zoro is edging closer to the level he aspires to be at, where he can finally dethrone Mihawk. In Elbaf, One Piece’s ongoing arc, Zoro is going to get a tremendous boost in terms of strength, and it will all come through Haki. In fact, Oda has already revealed Zoro’s next strength upgrade, and it’ll be a new Haki.
Zoro’s Haki Control Is Terrible
If there’s one thing that Oda confirmed inOne Piece’sElbaf arc, it is that Zoro, despite being a Haki user, is actually not good at using it at all. Zoro’s Haki control is absolutely terrible, and he didn’t even know he had access to Conqueror’s Haki until recently. Zoro’s Haki is very rough because he strains himself too much, and on top of that, all of it is actually brought out by Enma, the beloved sword of Oden. Without Enma, Zoro is actually a lot weaker but that is precisely what must change in Elbaf.
How can you ever hope to help your captain like that? — Gaban
Scopper Gaban, Rogers’s Left Arm, berated Zoro recently, giving him an earful about his bad Haki control. Zoro cannot control his Haki properly, and more than that, Gaban clearly stated that only by understanding and controlling Haki can its true power be brought it.This is both good and bad for Zoro. It is bad in the sense that it confirms Zoro’s Haki is actually quite bad and he’s been winning fights through unconventional methods. But, it is also good in the sense that it basically confirms that Zoro is about to become a monster, because it sets a precedent for him to learn how to control Haki in Elbaf.
Zoro’s Next Power Up Is A Haki Upgrade
Zoro Will Learn How To Consciously Control The Supreme King Haki
Clearly, Oda has already set up the next Haki upgrade for Zoro, and it is simply to learn how to control this power.Zoro needs to understand his innate Hakiand learn to bring it out, especially without Enma. Once he does that, he’ll have much better control of his power, and with that, his overall level will increase as well.
What? I have the Color of the Supreme King? — Zoro
In Elbaf,Zoro needs to master Conqueror’s Haki, which means that by the end of the arc, Zoro should be able to bring out this power similar to Luffy on the rooftop Vs Kaido in Wano.
Zoro Will Learn How To Cut Immortals
Not only will Zoro learn how to control Haki in Elbaf, but at the same time, he will also learn advanced applications of it, such as cutting those who are immortal. Come the end of Elbaf, Zoro will be a whole other monster, capable of fighting the likes of Admirals, and possibly even Mihawk himself.
