The Big Mom Pirates are one of the most powerful pirate crewsthat fans have seen inOne Piece. Up until recently, they ruled over a significant portion of the New World, which made them a force to be reckoned with on the seas. The Big Mom Pirates oversee Totland, a significantly massive country composed of several small islands. The ruler of Totland is the former Emperor, Big Mom. Fans have seen a significant portion of the post timeskip ofOne Piecefocus on the Big Mom Pirates, and, in Wano, they were dealt a significant blow, when the emperor, Big Mom, finally fell.
The Big Mom Pirates are in a state of limbo right now, but, given the kind of writer Oda is, their story is most definitely not going to be left like that. Fans will definitely get to see the Big Mom Pirates take the spotlight once again later down the line, and Elbaf could very well be perfect for them to pull that off.
The Current Fate Of The Big Mom Pirates After Wano
The Big Mom Pirates Are Reeling
In the Wano Country Arc, the Big Mom Pirates sailed to the land of Wano in an attempt to get revenge for what Luffy did. Big Mom took some of her Generals with her, and left behind others to guard Whole Cake Island. This was a disaster, no matter which way one looks at it. The team that was left behind at Whole Cake Island was raided by the Blackbeard Pirates, and at the same time, they suffered significant losses, especially because of the Germa invasion as well. While Katakuri and Cracker, among others, such as Oven, did their best to hold the fort, they were not able to do a thorough job, especially given the strong pirates that raided the island.

Pudding was kidnapped, and at the same time, it is also possible that the Road Poneglyph they had, among other things, was raided as well. At the same time, the Book Prison, which held the Vinsmoke Siblings, was raided as well, and all the Vinsmokes escaped from Big Mom’s collection too. Kaido fell with Big Mom and the fate of these two individuals remains unknown at this point in time. They could very well be dead, or, in a shocking twist, Oda could reveal that they are still alive. The Big Mom Pirates were seen at the end of Wano Country arc, and they had a short confrontation with the CP0, which they successfully survived.

The Big Mom Pirates Have A Bigger Story To Tell The Fans
Fans recently got to see the Big Mom Pirateswhen Vegapunk’s message was going onand it was clear to see that Katakuri, among many other members of the pirate crew, were present on Whole Cake Island. This clearly suggests that the territory that the Big Mom Pirates hold is still there. The pirate crew has not been defeated, and it is also possible that the Big Mom Pirates have seen the return of their captain, Big Mom. It is either that, or, if Big Mom is truly dead, then, Katakuri, the second son of the former Yonko, has taken command of this crew and is now thinking of what steps to take next in order to ensure the integrity of this crew, and with that, the family.
There absolutely has to be more in store for the Big Mom Pirates and that much is a given.
Oda likes to tie his storylines properly and the Big Mom Pirates simply cannot be left in the air. Of course, there is no need for their Road Poneglyphs in the grand scheme of things anymore, but the territory is still vulnerable. Katakuri will have to protect this territory, which means that if he is the captain of the crew, he will have to seek alliances. The only alliance that he can seek out right now is that of Luffy, a Yonko of the sea. All the others are people who would not be deemed trustworthy, and given that he is in charge, he would only want to join up with Luffy as an ally. This would be absolutely perfect for the fans as they would get the opportunity to see these two monstrously powerful individuals fight side by side.
How The Big Mom Pirates Could Play A Role In Elbaf
The Big Mom Pirates Could Be Headed To Elbaf Soon
The Big Mom Pirates could end up playing a significant role in Elbafin two ways. This depends on whether Big Mom is alive or not, of course. If Big Mom is alive, then, the incentive for the crew to be present on Elbaf is bigger than ever before. Big Mom has ties directly to the land of Elbaf, and fans know that Oda has highlighted that on many occasions in the story. Big Mom has already played her role as a villain and now, she is certainly not a threat to Luffy. Big Mom, at her core, is a nice person who goes about things in the wrong manner. Her childhood trauma certainly needs healing, and, in that sense, Elbaf could be the perfect way for her to fix herself up. Big Mom could end up becoming an ally of the Strawhat Pirates if she is alive and is still the leader of her crew.

Fans would love to see Big Mom come to Elbaf in an attempt to chase down Straw Hat Luffy, and then, if Luffy ends up helpingher remember things about Elbaf, then she could very well end up befriending him and leaving bygones be bygones. At the same time, this would then ensure a powerful alliance between Luffy and Big Mom, and it would see their goal mutually yet accomplished. Of course, Big Mom will not be able to become the Pirate King. However, her biggest goal is to create a utopia where she can sit together with everyone, see eye to eye, and have a big party. This is something that Luffy can actually get behind. And, in that sense, this is something that he would love to aid her in as well.
On the other hand, if Big Mom truly is dead and Katakuri is the captain of the crew, then, in order to seek safety for Totland and all the people under his protection, he will have to approach a Yonko. The best person for him to do that would, of course, be Luffy.Fans could get to see Katakuri on Elbafseeking an alliance, and together, they could fight the many threats present on the island and navigate the path from there onwards.
