Overwatch 2has launched a fresh version of theLoverwatchdating sim, but before anyone gets too excited, it’s only available in China. Since its launch,Overwatch 2has hosted a variety of in-game events for players, but those outside of China wishing for another round ofLoverwatchare unfortunately left out, at least for the time being.

For those unfamiliar withLoverwatch, it was a short-lived dating sim browser game based around theOverwatchfranchise. Offered to players as a parody, theLoverwatchdating sim was a hilariously fun way to seeOverwatch 2in a new light. It’s unclear why the new take onLoverwatchis only available in Chinaat the moment, but there is actually more than one downside to the event. The heroes featured inLoverwatchare all decked out in some truly great outfits, raising questions as to why these styles haven’t been used as skins yet.

Overwatch 2 Has a Golden Opportunity With its Loverwatch Outfits That Can’t Be Missed

Pictures of heroes like Cassidy, Junker Queen, Lifeweaver, Mauga, Juno, D.Va, and Genji have been floating around the internet since the event launched, and each character is dressed to the nines. Cassidy, Genji, and Junker Queen’s outfits have been personal favorites, but no matter which outfit one prefers, it’s clear thatBlizzard has been missing a big opportunitywith its original skins.

Loverwatch’s Sequel Hopefully Opens the Door for Some Fun-Loving Skins

Whether it’s Cassidy’s disco-inspired purple button-up shirt and white pants or Junker Queen’s flowing outfit that looks like it came from the wardrobe of a warrior goddess,Overwatch 2can clearly up its skin game. Unfortunately, this wouldn’t be the first time thatBlizzard has overlooked some great ideas for cosmetics, but if the demand is high enough from players, the developer will hopefully see the benefit in bringing theseLoverwatchlooks to the main game, and not just in China.

Loverwatchin general hopefully gets spread worldwide. While dating sims aren’t for everyone, even if they’re a parody, the first run ofLoverwatchwas a big success within the community. It would be surprising if Blizzard didn’t expandLoverwatch’s reach eventually, but only time will tell. Right now, it remains an exclusive event, but if it became available in other countries, it would likely ignite calls from other players to make these outfits official hero skins. Considering thatOverwatch 2was made available in Chinaafter two years of not being playable in the country, it makes sense for Blizzard to bring forth special events for the region, but the rest of the player-base can hopefully get a slice of the pie someday, too.

It’s Unclear if Loverwatch Will Expand to Other Countries

So far, Blizzard hasn’t revealed any plans to bringLoverwatchback to the rest of the players across the globe, so right now, those wishing for another dating sim parody will have to live vicariously through fellow players in China. Outfits like Genji’s three-piece suit complete with his face mask are simply really cool, and getting a fresh roster of theseLoverwatchstyles would be a good way to freshen upOverwatch 2matches. Collaborations likethe recentG.I. Joecrossoverare fun in their own right, but original, sharp, and aesthetically eye-catching outfits likeLoverwatch’s bring more originality.

For those outside of China,Loverwatchremains a distant memory. The fun parody was a unique way to shake uptheOverwatch 2formula, and Blizzard hopefully hasn’t closed the door on allowing those moments to be worldwide events.
