Clash is a new game modewhere players have to fight over multiple capture points in a single round, with “dynamic spawns and streamlined map routes.” Clash is a faster-paced experience compared to other match types in the game. It was available for a limited-time a couple of seasons ago and was met with a somewhat mixed response, but it will be interesting to see how it’s received as part of the proper Quick Play and Competitive playlists when it’s added toOverwatch 2with Season 12 on August 20. Of course, a new game mode needs new maps, and Clash will be debuting with two that will be nostalgic for fans of the original game: a map based on Temple of Anubis, and another based on Hanamura.

Overwatch 2 Clash Maps

The Clash maps coming inOverwatch 2have been revealed to the public before, and the fact that theytake inspiration from Temple of Anubis and Hanamurashould help them be popular with longtime fans. The first map is set in the Throne of Anubis, while the Hanamura-adjacent map has players exploring the streets of Hanaoka.Overwatch 1fans that miss these maps will be happy to see them make a comeback in Clash, though others will still want to see the originals make their proper return.

Blizzard has made no indication that it plans on bringing back those maps and the controversial game mode associated with them, but it is possible that other OW1 throwbacks could come to the game at some point down the line. After all, Clash will need more maps eventually, and not only that, but Blizzard has even said that it’s looking intotesting the return of 6v6. That test is still seasons away, but for now, fans can look forward to Season 12 on August 20 and the new game mode coming with it.
