Blizzard just introduced two new ways to track information inOverwatch 2: Hero Stats, a website that tracks gameplay statistics, and the Advanced Info Panel, an expansion of the in-game interface that provides more details on hero abilities. These new features will be available for all players soon, with the Advanced Info Panel coming inOverwatch 2Season 18.

Overwatch 2recently put out a newDirector’s Takethat went into the nature of learning and discovery within a live-service game. In the blog,Overwatch 2associate director Alec Dawsondiscussed the balance the developers try to take between providing information for fans while allowing them to explore what he referred to as the “discovery window” – the period of time when the community is still figuring things out after the implementation of a major balance update, new hero, or other game-changing features like Perks or Stadium.

Near the end of the blog, Dawson spoke on two new features that will help players better track information both in and out ofOverwatch 2. The first is called Hero Stats, which will be an official Blizzard website as part of Battle.net. Using this tool, fans will be able to view win rates, pick rates, and other deep-dive information used by theOverwatch 2team to help inform balance adjustments. According to the placeholder image, players will be able to sort this information by role, game mode, map, region, and even input mode to better understand how each hero compares to each other in tons of different factors.

The second feature is the Advanced Info Panel. This expanded interface will be available in the game, and will show a detailed breakdown of a hero’s abilities. Blizzard’s examples included specifics like the falloff range ofCassidy’s Peacekeeper inOverwatch 2, and the precise headshot damage of Hanzo’s Storm Bow.

There is no exact timetable for when fans can expect the Hero Stats website to go live at this time. However, the Advanced Info Panel feature will arrive as a part of Season 18, currently planned to start on August 26. This means players will likely learn more about this feature in the next few weeks, and will be able to see it in action soon.

That isn’t all that’s coming inOverwatch 2Season 18. Blizzard just revealedUltraviolet Sentinel Sojourn as the new Mythic skin forOverwatch 2Season 18, and will be officially sharing the full kit for Wuyang, the update’s new support hero, in the next couple of weeks. Needless to say, it sounds likeOverwatch 2has some interesting stuff planned for the near future.
