Summary

Borderlands 4might have been recently teased, but fans of the looter shooter franchise can only speculate about what the game will look like once it is revealed. One of the attractions of this sci-fi franchise is the possibility of visiting insane worlds, with perilous alien species that want to rip the faces out of every Vault Hunter they spot.

And speaking about planets, this list contains some of the planets that should be included inBorderlands 4, if it ever gets officially announced. From the homeland of one of the finest shooters in the galaxy to a paradise-like luxury resort planet, which has been advertised throughout the saga but was never available for players to visit.

Mordecai Borderlands 2

6Artemis

Mordecai’s Planet Of Origin

Artemis was briefly mentioned in an Echo device. The planet where Mordecai -one of the original Vault Hunters- was born and raised (and the home planet of Bloodwing), but little is known about its geography or alien species living in it. What we do know is that there’s some sort of Sharpshooting competition held there annually and Mordecai participated in it, though he was later accused of cheating.

It would be interesting to explore the place where the sharpshooter and his faithful winged companion met for the first time and seeing if there’s any Vault hidden there would be a little plus. Fans also have a theory about how Mordecai bonded with Bloodwing in the first place that still needs solving, so there’s another narrative pool that the devs should draw from to introduce Artemis to the plot.

Borderlands 2 Pandora

5Pandora

The Homeland Of Vault Hunters

The place where it all began, and the mecca of Vault Hunters all across the galaxy. It is unknown if more Eridian artifacts lay hidden under the wastelands of this planet, but it would be nice to see more of this vast and dangerous place.WithBorderlands 3diverting a little from Pandoraand into the rest of the Galaxy, it would make sense that there are other places yet to be discovered.

Nevertheless, it is also true that one cannot see a full place in its first trip to it, and working on expanding the Pandoran travel catalog wouldn’t be such a bad idea either. Be it as it may, many crucial characters for the franchise have their bases here, so a revisit of the desertic planet is a must.

Borderlands 3 Promethea

4Promethea

There’s A Lot Of Loose Ends Here

The base of command of the Atlas corporation, and the first planet where a Vault was unearthed. Players are still scratching their heads about so many things related to Promethea and the influence of Atlas. After the Maliwan/Atlas corporate wars events that happened inBorderlands 3,players are still wonderingwhat will be of the Atlas corporation and Rhys Strongfork.

The world not only has its wild, untamed side but it is also riddled with an intricate network of tunnels, according to some ECHO devices we find during the adventure, which means there’s still a whole lot of things to discover about Promethea and its Eridian ruins.

3Sercannus-3

Scenario Of One Of The Worse Corpo Wars Ever

Sercannus-3 is briefly mentioned in a series of ECHO recordings between a spy and his base of operations found in theCommander Lilith & the Fight for SanctuaryDLC forBorderlands 2. During the voice recordings, we hear about the planet and the interest of two of the biggest weapon corporations in the system: Vladoff and Tediore, waging a war over its mysterious resources.

Could they be there looking for Eridian artifacts? Is it possible that it is a hint of what is to come in a near future iteration of the franchise? We can only speculate what Vladoff and Tediore have been doing in the absence of the other corporations' watch, but we can assume it is nothing good.

Handsome Jack in front of the Great Vault from Borderlands 3

2Tantalus

Birthplace Of Handsome Jack

Players learn about Handsome Jack’s planet of origin through a series of ECHO devices from Axton’s wife Sarah, indicating a subplot where the Atlas corporation is in the middle of an undertaking of the planet, and she is deployed as part of the Mercenary corps hired by the corporation to gain control of a certain place in this vast land.

It would be nice to see how Handsome Jack has left his mark on his homeworld, and more importantly:since his daughter was a Siren, that means the influence of an Eridian Vault might be active in that world. It could be an interesting narrative thread to explore, more so since we know so little about Angel’s background.

Aquator

1Aquator

A Resort Planet, Imagine If A Plague Of Psychos Were To Invade

Aquator is mentioned several times in the lore through ECHO devices, brief yelps from NPCs, and even some visual storytelling: we see propaganda about the vocational planet lying around all Pandora, not only inBorderlandsbut inBorderlands 2as well. What’s more interesting about this planet, is that its name is a mash-up of Aqua (water) and Ecuador, suggesting some Caribbean-like theme for its design.

In the advertising posters, we can read that it promotes its Luxury Resort Villas, alongside the slogan: “One Planet, One Ocean,” and an image of a group of Islands that show lush forests and white sand beaches. It might be a tremendously nice touch from theBorderlandsdevs to add some sort of mission that lets us explore a vocational resort,in the middle of a Psycho invasion. Or perhaps even a corporate takeover of the whole planet.
