APokemonfan took to social media to share some concept drawings of an alternate Wooloo evolution, which drew upon the popular term “a wolf in sheep’s clothing.” ThePokemonfan artist also explained the evolution method that would unlock their Wooloo evolution concept were it to exist in the series, and other fans complimented them for their creativity and handiwork.

Known as the Sheep Pokemon, Wooloo first appeared inPokemon Sword and Shieldas one of the first Normal-type creatures trainers encounter in the Galar region. Wooloo is known for its fluffy white wool and for its sphere-shaped body, which helps it roll around grassy meadows and flee from predators. Ergo, Wooloo is often used by smaller Pokemon like Pikachu as a makeshift bed due to its wool and its friendly temperament. Wooloo evolves into Dubwool starting at level 24 inPokemon Sword and Shield. Despite its popularity,Wooloo remains exclusive toPokemon GOand the eighth mainline game generation.

Although Wooloo and Dubwool are far fromthe most powerful Normal-type Pokemon, one fan artist gave the Sheep Pokemon a new evolution form. On thePokemonsubreddit, a Reddit user named DivineandDeadlyAngel shared a hand-drawn concept of a Pokemon they dubbed Woolupe, a Normal and Ghost dual-type evolution of Wooloo. Woolupe’s design is based on the metaphor “a wolf in sheep’s clothing,” which is used to describe crafty predators that hide among their prey. Like the Wooloo before it, the predatory Woolupe has a white wool pelt and brown fur on its body. However, Woolupe also has a long body with red claws, sharp yellow eyes, and several pointed teeth. Wooloo is much larger than Wooloo both when standing up and when sitting down. Woolupe was also shown to have a howling attack, which allows its ghastly gaze to pierce through its wool and see its prey.

Pokemon Fan Artist Creates Wolf-Like Wooloo Evolution Concept

To evolve a Wooloo into a Woolupe, DivineandDeadlyAngel useda complex Pokemon evolution methodthat involved meeting three criteria. After ensuring Wooloo had a low happiness statistic, Wooloo then had to learn a Ghost-type attack and then faint in battle to trigger the change to Woolupe. While friendship-based evolutions are still utilized inPokemon Sword and Shieldfor creatures like Snom and Frosmoth, Wooloo is currently unable to learn any Ghost-type attacks. Only time will tell if that will change in futurePokemongames.

In response, otherPokemontrainers complimented DivineandDeadlyAngel for their clever Wooloo evolution concept.WithPokemon Legends: Z-Aarriving in October, it remains to be seen if and when Wooloo or Dubwool will return to the franchise.
