Summary
A talentedPokemonfan has recently designed a Mega Evolution for Electrode. While Electrode’s popularity pales in comparison to other Gen 1 Pokemon such as Pikachu, for example, its unique design that resembles a Poke Ball makes it an excellent choice forPokemonfan art.
Electrode isa powerful Electric-type Pokemonthat first appeared inPokemon Red and Blue, and could be caught in locations such as the Power Plant, or the Cerulean Cave. Alternatively, players could first capture a Voltorb and then evolve it starting at Level 30. Starting withPokemon Legends: Arceus, players gained access to the Hisuian Voltorb and Electrode, which are Electric/Grass-type monsters. Unfortunately, Electrode never received an official Mega Evolution.
Now, aPokemonfan called Conehead shared a new Mega Evolution for Electrode with the community. In this new design, Mega Electrode looks like a huge Great Ball about to explode. The Pokemon essentially maintains most of its original design, as it’s still round and has a mouth, but it has different colors, including a yellow X resembling its Electric type. The creature also comes with a new signature move called Surge Runaway, which is an Electric move with a Power of 150, and makes the user faint. Together with the final art, Conehead also shared some early sketches, which included what seems to be a Fire-type version of the Electrode.
Mega Electrode Pokemon Fan Art
This is not the first unofficial Mega Evolution of a creature used by Team Rocket designed by Conehead. Earlier this month, the fan artist designed aMega Evolution for Arbok, giving the snake-inspired monster a spooky overhaul. In this new design, Arbok had two huge mouths, including one on its chest, and a biforked tail.
Previously, Conehead also designed fan art depicting aMega Evolution for Muk. In this case, the creepy-looking sludge Pokemon became even more “melted” and menacing, looking bigger and more powerful than ever.
Curiously, another fan artist also shared anew Mega Evolution for Electrodelast week. However, instead of being inspired by a Great Ball like Conehead, this other fan opted to use a Master Ball as the base design, coming up with an Electric/Steel-type version of the round Pokemon that had two smaller orbs attached to its head, resembling ears. Hopefully, more fans will keep coming up with amazing Mega Evolutions for Pokemon in the coming weeks, as the franchise is likely to continue being popular with creative fans.
