Summary

APokemonfan has reimagined Dugtrio as ice cream in a charming piece of fanart. The creation is the latest in a series of art pieces that turn iconicPokemoninto tasty snacks like donuts and boba tea drinks.

Simply recreating one’s favorites with an artistic medium is a valid way of celebrating thePokemonseries, and something that many fans do. However, some artists also incorporatecreative twists into theirPokemonfanart, and this artist is just one example of those who do it frequently and well.

Pokemonfan MunchyKu shared their latest creation with fellow fans on thePokemonsubreddit. This time around, the artist has turned Dugtrio into a group of Magnum ice cream bars. The trio of Diglett are a bit darker, looking a bit more like theirAlolan Dugtriocousins to better represent the chocolate shell on the ice cream bars. There are little chips of chocolate missing, revealing the vanilla ice cream underneath. The ice cream bar sticks are emerging from the heads of the Dugtrio, with the three sitting in a small pile of chunky chocolate instead of the usual dirt they dig through to pop out of. Amusingly, the Dugtrio look a lot happier than they’re often depicted as.

Pokemon Fans React to Dugtrio Ice Cream

Fans have been quite enthusiastic about MunchyKu’s design, sharing compliments with the artist on their work. A pair of fans both suggested that this design could make a great regional version of Dugtrio, which could potentially turn its typing into Ice/Ground. Gamers suggested that sinceVanilliteis already a Pokemon, that an ice cream version of an existing one isn’t that absurd. Others have made requests of the artist, like one fan who hopes to see Guzzlord as a crab dish.

As mentioned, this isn’t the first time that this particular artist has brought Pokemon to life in unique ways. The same fan previously turned Fidough into a donut,Litwick into a cupcake, and Bulbasaur was recreated as a “bobasaur.” They’ve also created lots of other designs that aren’t inspired by snacks, like creating weapons based off of Pokemon or a series of Pikachu Grunts based upon the various villainous teams from the series of games.

Pokemonfans tend to be enthusiastic and supportive about all kinds ofPokemonfanart, but crossovers like these are especially exciting. It remains to be seen what MunchyKu creates next, but it will likely make fans of the series happy to see it.
