One incredibly luckyPokemon GOplayer has managed to snag three rare Pokemon back-to-back during a special event in the mobile AR game. There’s a special Timed Research quest going on now inPokemon GO, and if this player’s luck rubs off, fans may want to dive on it quickly.

ThePokemon GOSweet Swarm eventis going on from August 3-6, giving players a special themed event centered around Pokemon based on candy and other sweet treats. For the duration of the special four-day event, lure modules will last for a full hour and will have a better-than-usual chance of attracting special Pokemon, which in this case, are Combee and Swirlix. There are also two sets of timed research tasks that players can undertake to pick up special rewards and, hopefully, run across some rare Pokemon.

Pokemon GO Player Gets Extremely Lucky During Sweet Swarm

One player in particular has had a very eventful first day, as completing theTimed Research tasks inPokemon GOhas led them to capture three shiny Swirlix back to back. Reddit user Mediocre_Bread3908 has shared their lucky finds with the Internet, as their Journal entries show three different shiny Swirlix all captured within the same minute. All three of these Pokemon were encountered by way of cashing in on completed Timed Research tasks, which, in this instance, involved catching 15 Pokemon, spinning the disc at five PokeStops or gyms, and using five berries to help capture Pokemon.

While gettingshinies in Pokemon GOis a treat, it’s even better when they’re capable of holding their own in battle. The three shiny Swirlix caught by this player were all pretty close together in combat power at the time of the catch, ranging between 487 and 505. But one clearly stands out above the rest, as after appraising them, the player discovered they had caught their third-ever shundo, a Pokemon that is both shiny and has perfect individual values for attack, defense, and HP. The catch is drawing the envy of a lot of fellow players, many of whom are participating in Sweet Swarm but have yet to get nearly as lucky.

Even if they haven’t found any shinies yet themselves, players will want to keep plugging away during the event, as the second set of Timed Research Tasks is set to begin on August 5. That’s not the only reason to get excited, as leaks have predicted17 new Pokemon coming toPokemon GOsoon, including multiple Paradox Pokemon fromPokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Teal Mask and Indigo Disc DLCs.
