Pokemon GOdeveloper Niantic has revealed all the Community Day dates for Season 17, which is expected to begin on December 3 this year. Like previous seasons,Pokemon GOSeason 17 will have multiple Community Day events and special limited-time events that are based around that season’s theme.
Pokemon GOSeason 16, titled Max Out, is themed after Dynamax Pokemon fromPokemon Sword and Shield.The latest season ofPokemon GOintroduced Max Battles, which sees 40 Pokemon Trainers team up in groups of four to fight Gigantamax Pokemon. Along with Max Battles, players may participate inPokemon GO’smonthly Community Day events to acquire new Pokemon, and those lucky enough may encounter shiny Pokemon in the wild.
After Season 17 begins, the firstPokemon GOCommunity Dayevent of the season will be held from December 21 to 22, according to Niantic. If the yearly tradition continues, the last Community Day event of the year will feature an ensemble of Pokemon from previous Community Day events, allowing players to catch Pokemon they may have missed out on. The first Community Day event of 2025 will be held on January 5, followed by the first Community Day Classic event of the year on January 25. The season’s final Community Day event will be held on Jul 14, 2025. It’s worth noting that none of the featured Pokemon for these Community Day events have been revealed yet, as Niantic is preparing more information about the December 2024 Community Day event.
Pokemon GO Season 17 Community Day Event Dates
Alongside the dates for the upcoming Community Day events, Niantic revealed event dates for the remainder ofPokemon GOMax Out seasonand other limited-time events for Season 17. Players can expect Research Day and Max Battle Day on December 7 and December 8, respectively. A Raid Day event will be held on December 14, followed by Hatch Day on December 29. More Raid Day events will be held on January 11 and February 15, with Shadow Raid Day and Max Battle Day happening in between those dates, on January 19 and February 1.
During Community Day, players can expect the shiny encounter rate for the featured Pokemon to be higher than usual in wild encounters. In addition, these new Community Day events will have several event bonuses, such as increased XP gains and Rare Candy drops for catching Pokemon, reduced Stardust cost for trading, and the opportunity tocatch Smeargle with thePokemon GOsnapshot feature.
