Pokemon TCG Pocket’s booster packsused to come in two kinds: Regular and Rare; the latter is also known among players as a God Pack. The difference between them lies in their drop rates. As the name suggests, Rare packs have a much higher chance of containing scarce cards, while Regular packs mostly yield common ones.
WithPokemon TCG Pocket’s Wisdom of Sea and Skycame a new booster pack type called Regular +1. These packs contain six cards, unlike the other types, which offer only five. More importantly, the sixth card is dedicated to baby Pokemon, with about a 30% chance for common ones and 13% for full-art variants. Players can view detailed drop rates in the pack-opening menu by tapping the “Offering Rates” button.

Luckily, getting the new Regular +1 booster packs isn’t as uncommon as it may sound. With a drop rate of about 9%, there’s a good chance of getting multiple ones, which is great news for fans ofPokemon TCG Pocket’s newly added baby cards. It’s also worth noting that the drop rates for the first five slots in Regular +1 packs are the same as in Regular packs, with the only difference being the final slot.
It’s not clear if Regular +1 packs will appear in upcoming sets. However, if they do, their sixth slot will likely be used for valuable types of cards. One possibility is thatPokemon TCG Pocket’s rumored Mega Evolutionswill be included only in Regular +1 packs. This theory comes from the idea that Mega Evolutions will probably be limited to a few cards, like baby Pokemon, so it would make sense for the game to release them using the same strategy.
For those curious,previousPokemon TCG Pocketleaksclaimed that Mega Evolutions will join the game in October, likely as a tribute to the release ofPokemon Legends: Z-A. Many fans now believe the addition of Regular +1 packs is a step toward introducing those anticipated creatures. However, they will likely need to wait until the upcoming A4a and A4b mini-sets release to see if these theories are accurate.
