Pokemon TCG Pocketfinally revealed its new Wisdom of Sea and Sky A4 expansion a few days ago, and the set is coming out very soon for players to collect and make new decks with. Ahead of the set’s reveal and launch, a plethora of cards started leaking online, and even the fact that the expansion was meant to be dedicated to Johto and include baby Pokemon was leaked thanks to datamines showing in-shop Pichu accessories. With the leaks being basically confirmed to be true, it’s worth mentioning thatPokemon TCG Pocketis adding an OP card that works wonders with many existing cards, but it becomes even stronger with a new one.

Pokemon TCG Pocketsetstypically add some cards that have decent effects overall, but can then go the extra mile when combined with other cards from the same expansion, such as Buzzwole Ex with Celesteela for infinite back-to-back uses of Big Beat. In the case of Wisdom of Sea and Sky,Pokemon TCG Pocketis adding a new Supporter card inspired by the first member of the Elite Four in Gen 2, called Will, which is amazing for strategies that require players to flip coins. Then, the set also adds a new card that takes this benefit to the next level.

Pokemon TCG Pocket’s New Coin-Flip Wisdom of Sea and Sky Card is OP

Pokemon TCG Pocket’s meta decksdon’t necessarily rely on two-card combos all the time, but some of them do, such as Kiawe with Turtonator for 90 damage on turn 2, which annihilates most opponents. In this case, the new Will Supporter makes the next coin flip in the same turn that comes from an ability, attack, or Trainer card guaranteed to be heads. This is already broken on its own and can have incredible effects on the meta, but it can be all the more devastating when used with the new Xatu card.

Xatu is a Gen 2 Pokemon, which makes it a perfect fit for Wisdom of Sea and Sky. Its A4 version has 80 HP, it’s weak to Darkness, it has a retreat cost of 1, and it can attack for two Psychic Energy with Life Drain. This attack doesn’t deal direct damage, and instead, it makes the user flip a coin, and if the result is heads, the opposing active Pokemon’s remaining HP become 10. This works on any Pokemon regardless of its conditions and statuses, and it doesn’t really care about effects that reduce incoming damage, like Stiffen on Cosmoem. More importantly, this is a coin flip, meaning that one can force a positive outcome with the new WillSupporter card inPokemon TCG Pocket.

Not only that, but since this is a Psychic Pokemon, it can work wonders when paired withPokemon TCG Pocket’s Sylveon Exin order to draw all the key combo pieces more consistently, as well as have a regular attacker in the deck. If that wasn’t enough, one can pair Xatu with Greninja or maybe Grafaiai, as the former has the Water Shuriken ability to snipe any opposing Pokemon for 20 damage and the latter can Poison from the bench.

How Passive Damage Makes Will + Xatu an OP Combo in Pokemon TCG Pocket

Another option is to use cards like Rocky Helmet and Poison Barb to make the opposing critter essentially knock itself out if it attacks, meaning that opponents may be better off retreating to the bench or even doing nothing, as Xatu cannot KO Pokemon on its own since it doesn’t have other attacks. There is even a new Typhlosion card inPokemon TCG Pocket’s Wisdom of Sea and Skyset that has the ability to Burn the opposing active Pokemon even from the bench, meaning that Xatu could use Life Drain with Will active and the opposing Pokemon would be guaranteed to be KOed at the end of the turn. The options are endless here, and it’s clear that Will is going to be a meta card inPokemon TCG Pocket, but it will depend on which decks it’s used in.

For example, it would be great withPokemon TCG Pocket’s Misty Supporter, but since only one Supporter card can be used per turn, such combo can’t be performed.
