A change made toPokemon TCG PocketWonder Picks has increased the number of Pokemon ex cards guaranteed to appear in Rare Picks. With over 200 ex cards inPokemon TCG Pocketto collect at the time of this writing, the higher pull rates should prove to be a boon to hardcore collectors aiming to rack up as many rare cards as they possibly can.
Wonder Picks inPokemon TCG Pocketallow players to pull extra cards without opening booster packs, with each Pick providing a pool of cards based on rarity. The pool of available cards is determined by those pulled by other players, including friends and random collectors in the game. Wonder Picks cost Stamina depending on the rarity of the cards available for selection; common cards can be pulled for 1 Stamina, Picks featuring basic rares cost 2 Stamina, and Rare Picks featuring full arts or ex Pokemon will cost at least 3 Stamina to redeem.
As highlighted by Reddit user INDIGO, developer DeNA has updated Wonder Picks for theJulyPokemon TCG PocketMass Outbreakto include two ex cards in each Rare Pick. Following the game’s launch in October 2024, Rare Picks had usually included a single ex card in a given Rare Pick, severely limiting the rate at which players could collect the powerful Pokemon. While some players have reported Rare Picks with multiple ex cards in previous events, namely the Mass Outbreak event for June 2025, the July Mass Outbreak is the first time the Wonder Picks have guaranteed two unique cards.
Pokemon TCG Pocket Increases EX Card Pulls in Rare Picks
While the increased pull rates for ex cards in Rare Picks are a welcome change, there is still no guarantee that players won’t pull duplicates of the same Pokemon multiple times. With its current system,Pokemon TCG Pocketdoes not have a soft or hard pity systemto prevent players from finding the same cards over and over again. Considering Rare Packs cost players three Stamina points to redeem, free-to-play collectors may still have a hard time perfecting their decks.
An update for the game’s pull rates may still be on the cards, as aPokemon TCG Pocketreveal during the 11th Pokemon Presentsis expected on July 22. The presentation is rumored to include a teaser trailer for an upcoming set for the mobile game. Should the rumored new set include more ex cards forPokemon TCG Pocket, players may want to save their Stamina for redeeming as many Rare Picks as they possibly can.
