InPokemon Trading Card Game Pocket, players partake in the joy of opening digital booster packs to hunt for specific cards and expand their mobile card collection. Players can then use these cards to build functioning decks and take on AI or other players in a simplified version of the physicalPokemon TCGgame.
However, to keep things as interesting as possible and give players more to collect and do, there are a few little features to customize andshow off your cards, such asFlairs. What Are Flairs & How to Get Them in Pokemon TCG Pocket?
InPokemon Trading Card Game Pocket, Flairs are an additional cosmetic item that players can optionally craft and unlock to add some special effects to some of their cards. Flairs, for the most part, are animated decorations—such as sparkles, stars, and flames—that burst out from the card when viewed.
The great thing about Flairs is that they are obtained from extra copies of your cards, meaning that your dupes do serve a purpose! Each card in the game is capable of having different Flairs unlocked. Most Flairs will referencethe Type of the Pokemon/Card, with Fire, Grass, and Water effects, for example, as well as more general cosmetics such as sparkles.
To unlock Flairs, some criteria must be met. First,you need to have at least three copies of a single card, as unlocking a Flair requires the player to still have at least two copies of the card left after expending one. This is for deck safety purposes, as the maximum number of copies per card allowed in a deck is also two. Aside from multiple duplicates of the card you wish to unlock a Flair for,you will also need tohave some Shinedustto spend.
Shinedust is one of the many currencies in the game and can be obtained from cards or earned as a reward by completing missions. The amount of Shinedust a Flair will cost varies depending on the Flair you wish to unlock. Once you are ready to unlock a Flair, head over to your collection and click on the card that you would like to unlock the Flair for.
When viewing the card, there will be an ‘Obtain Flair’ button at the bottom of the page. Go ahead and tap on this button to bring up an additional menu, viewing all eligible Flairs that can be unlocked for that card. For example, the Farfetch’d pictured above only has a simple sparkle Flair available, while theCharizard cardbelow has the addition of some burning flames to bring extra life to the artwork.
Once you have selected the Flair that you would like to purchase, you can tap on it to preview the card, which will also bring up the purchase button. As long as you have enough cards and Shinedust to make the purchase, those items will be traded in, and you will have a new Flair unlocked—it’s as easy as that!
