Every day, the game releases two boosters to open, one every 12 hours, while players have a limit of five stamina to perform Wonder Picks and get a random card. The possibility of opening boosters and grabbing a card via Wonder Pick is recharged with time. The process can be sped up by using Hourglasses, items available in different ways, one of which was not well received by the community.

Pokemon TCG Pockethas added Monthly Refreshed: Hourglasses, a new section of the in-game store that is charging more for players to get the item. As noted by Redditor Corgis-and-Cooking, the new store sells a pack of Hourglasses and a pack ofWonder Hourglassesfor three Shop Tickets, a pack of six Hourglasses or six Wonder Hourglasses for 18 tickets each, with a limit of ten purchases for each. By comparison, the regular store sells the pack of Hourglasses and Wonder Hourglasses for 2 tickets each, and the 6x packs for 12 tickets each, all with the same ten-pack limit.
