In the originalRed Dead Redemption, and in theRDR1PC remaster, Outfits are a core part of the game that change how John Marston looks, can grant special effects, and contribute to 100% completion. In total, there are eighteen Outfits you can earn and wear in the base game, but depending on which of theseRed Dead RedemptionOutfits that you want to unlock,there may be quite lengthysteps.
Before you can unlock almost allRed Dead Redemptionoutfits, you must first Reveal it in your Outfits tab. Then, the Scraps that you must complete to unlock the now-revealed Outfit will appear. Though some Outfits only have one requirement to unlock them for wear, most Outfits inRed Dead Redemptionrequire John Marston tocomplete a series of challengesbefore becoming equippable.

Link Rockstar account to automatically unlock the Gentleman’s Attire from the start
The Gentleman’s Attire has no requirements aside from linking your Rockstar account. The next time you open the game, the Gentleman’s Attire outfit will be available to wear.
Dead Eye regenerates twice as fast as normal
Requirements are revealed at the start of the game
4Elegant Suit
When you wear this Elegant Suit it will be possible to cheat at Poker
Unlocks ability to cheat in Poker
Play a game of Poker
To unlock the Elegant Suit, Red Dead Redemptionplayers must go to the Tailor in Thieves' Landing after playing their first game of Poker anywhere. You can purchase this Outfit for $70 once revealed.
Disguise yourself as part of Walton’s Gang
Members of Walton’s Gang will not attack John Marston
Either find one of the scraps listed below, or access the Tailor’s inventory in Thieves' Landing
Onceall of these requirements are met, purchase the final Scrap for the outfit from the Thieves Landing tailor for $50.
Disguise yourself as part of the Bollard Twins gang
Members of the Bollard Twins gangwill not attack John Marston
Once all of these requirements are met, purchase the final Scrap for the Bollard Twins Gang outfit from the Thieves Landing tailor for $50.
Disguise yourself as part of the Treasure Hunter gang
Special Effect
Members of the Treasure Hunter Gang will not attack John Marston
Once all of these requirements are met, purchase the final Scrap for the Treasure Hunter Gang outfit from the Thieves Landing tailor for $50.
8Bandito Outfit
Disguise yourself as a Bandito and outlaws will welcome you in Mexico
Banditos will not attack John Marston on sight
Complete one of the Bandito scraps listed below
Once all of these requirements are met, purchase the final Scrap for the Bandito outfit from the General Store in Chuparosa.
9Reyes' Rebels Outfit
Disguise yourself as one of Reyes' Rebels and you will be treated kindly by the law in Mexico
John Marston effectively becomes legally immune in Mexico
Complete the main story mission “An Appointed Time”
Once all of these requirements are met, purchase the final Scrap for the Reyes' Rebels outfit from the General Store in Escalera.
Look like an enlisted man while wearing this uniform
Bandits and gang members may attack John Marston on sight in cities
Complete the final main story mission The Last Enemy That Shall Be Destroyed
Once all of these requirements are met, purchase the final Scrap for the US Army Uniform outfit from the Thieves Landing tailor for $100.
