An early access player who goes by the_nice_care posted screenshots in theHades 2subreddit of achievements that had been added to the game’s Steam page. The game has not had any achievements during its early access period, and their addition was not noted in themost recent patch forHades 2. According to SteamDB, the achievements were added on July 29 around 7 PM UTC before swiftly being removed a little over an hour and a half later. Despite the achievements’ short window of visibility, fans immediately spotted the error and immediately began speculating about a release date announcement, with guesses ranging from a week to as soon as the next day.
New Hades 2 Steam Achievements Have Sparked Release Date Rumors
While some of the now-pulled achievements clearly point towards content currently inHades 2, such as those awarded for recruiting all Animal Familiars or fully upgrading Melinoe’s Arcana, at least three stood out to some players as impossible to complete in the game’s current state. The incompletable achievements are probably tied to additional content included in the full release, with one achievement titled “Elysian Glory” requiring players “Prevail in the Contest of Champions.” ConsideringHades 2is confirmed as a timed-console exclusive for the Nintendo Switch 2, it’s likely that Supergiant Games is waiting for an upcoming Nintendo Direct to make an official reveal, both of the game’s release date and any new content updates.
Nintendo recently confirmed a July 2025 Nintendo Direct, which is scheduled for July 31 at 6 AM PT. Featuring “roughly 25 minutes” of games from Nintendo publishing partners, there’s a good chance thatHades 2will make an appearance, and hopefully reveal its release date.
