Schedule 1developer TVGS has given fans a sneak peek at the indie game’s highly anticipated Cartel update, while also narrowing down its launch with a new release window. While Tyler, the game’s sole developer, initially stated that the newSchedule 1update would be released by the end of July, he has now stated that it will be released on the game’s beta branch next week, meaning fans could be jumping in as early as Monday, August 4.
TVGS’s hit crime simulation game took the gaming world by storm earlier this year, soaring to nearly 460,000 concurrent players on Steam and becoming one of the most played games on the platform in its first few weeks. While the title is still in early access, it has already received multiple updates, many of which have added new features, quality-of-life improvements, and content. According to theofficialSchedule 1roadmapreleased by TVGS, the developer has big plans for the game’s future, with numerous significant updates in the pipeline. Fans have already received plenty of more minor updates, but the first bigSchedule 1update is now just a matter of days away.
Earlier this year, TVGS allowed fans tochoose the nextSchedule 1update. Players had three different options to choose from: a Cartel update, a Shrooms update, or a Police Expansion update. After a weekend of voting, the Cartel update came out on top, and TVGS got to work on developing the patch. While the developer initially said the update would be released by the end of July, Tyler has now taken to Twitter and confirmed that it will be released on the game’s beta branch next week. While a firm release date wasn’t confirmed, it narrows down the update’s release to anywhere between Monday, August 4, and Sunday, August 10. A new batch of screenshots from the update, which can be seen below, was also shared.
Schedule 1 Cartel Update Coming Next Week
With the update seemingly set to add tons of new content to the game, fans are eager to jump in. However, like many of the indie titles' previous updates, it will only be available in beta at first. Thankfully, anyone can check out theSchedule 1beta branchby heading to Steam, right-clicking the game, navigating to Properties, then selecting Betas and changing the Beta Participation to Beta. However, players should be aware that the update will be released in beta for a reason and may include bugs, glitches, and performance issues. For a more stable experience with the update, it’s recommended to wait until its full release, which usually follows 1-2 weeks later.
Although the update is coming slightly later than expected, it’s great timing for fans in Australia. Earlier this year,Schedule 1was suddenly removed from Steam within the region. Many believed the game was banned due to its drug-related themes, but Tyler quickly reassured fans that it had been temporarily removed due to its lack of an official age rating. After two long months of the game being unavailable on Steam in Australia,Schedule 1finally returnedin July, just in time for the big Cartel update.
